This is not solid wood. The backing is thin sheets of some material that is more flimsy than particle board. They also put stickers near the front showing which direction it should go that do not peel off, I’ll have to get goo gone to remove them. Not good quality at all.

I just love my bookcase! I am building a mid-century modern library in our house. This bookcase is solid. People will know you spent $$ on this, but it was a very great price. I want more to fill the room. Drawers at the bottom are a nice little touch. We filled ours with playing cards and random activities. The small areas on this shelf are great for decor and featured books. I absolutely love it and get lots of compliments!

Impressed by the quality of wood and finish for a flat-pack item. It came with tons of parts, but that makes it extra sturdy. My only wish is that the fastener covers were a little less obvious, but I am super picky. Great value and style for the price.

This bookcase is such a great deal for the price!! I saw this same exact bookcase at other stores, and Target had by far the best price. It is real, solid wood, and is very sturdy. It looks great in my living room! Just be aware that the assembly does take a bit of time (it goes much faster if you have a power drill), but it wasn't a problem for me because all the parts ensure that the bookshelf is sturdy.

The bookcase was easy to assemble and everything fits together well. The directions are clear. The finished product looks nice and feels solid. I put felt pads on the feet and it slides around the wood floor with ease, no wobble or bend in the legs. This piece is a keeper.

Did not come with instructions. We triple checked. I contacted the helpline and they said they couldn't email it to me and didn't offer any other solution. It took us 4 hours to make a flat box into a bookshelf only to find there were 2 nicks in the wood.
