If I could rate it higher than 5 stars, I would. I'm a huge fan of palmini rice, but this has taken the top spot for a rice substitute. 9 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber per serving, 25 net carbs for a BIG generous portion (I'm a big eater), you could cut the 50 grams (dry) serving down to 40 grams or 35 grams (dry) and it would still be a decent serving with less net carbs. I simmered mine in salted water for about 10 minutes, and it came out beautifully. Soft, fluffy, tender, not mushy, each grain is separate and it tastes similar to yellow rice. I topped it with cuban black beans, chopped tomatoes and fresh salad, it made an excellent meal. Will definitely purchase again.

I love this orzo, but the package has shrunk from 8 oz (as pictured/described by Target) to 7.5 oz, which is very frustrating when the product is already expensive. Anyway, the orzo is very pleasant - not grainy, a nice texture (just don’t overcook it). I think it works especially well for creamy risotto-like dishes. Very filling. I wish I could buy a much larger package at a lower price per ounce.
More like pasta than rice

It tastes ok, but it’s nothing like rice. It’s more like an orzo pasta.
Wonderful healthy option for side dish or base.

Love this for a different good carb option. Especially because I have multiple food intolerances this is a healthy and safe option. Really good as a side dish or as a base for something over the top! Really only limited by your imagination. Wish I had scores that carried this Bonza product. But I will order online if that’s the only way I can get this.

Omg. This rice is so good. I’ve had Banza pasta but this surpasses everything. I never write reviews for things and here I am, lol. Going to use this as rice substitute for EVERYTHING going forward.

This is more like an orzo / pasta. It is very filling, so a little goes a long way. I would not use this in an Chinese/Japanese/Thai kind of dish.
Ehh not a fan- cooks weird!

Hi, Liz -- While we’re bummed to hear you didn’t love your most recent experience with Banza Chickpea Rice, we always welcome and encourage this honest feedback. That said, this is not how our rice are supposed to whip up during mealtime, and we’d love to take a deeper dive. So far all of the Banza products I’ve tried have been good. This new rice product is no different. It’s delicious. I’m always looking for healthier food options and this hits the mark. It also cooks really fast which really helps with this busy life.

I’m trying Banza rice for the first time, and it has so much more flavor than just plain regular rice. I ordered mine from the website, and loved all the recipes available.

A great substitute for rice or orzo. Cooks a little faster than pasta, so watch out for that. As a vegetarian (mostly) it’s a great way to get more protein into my diet
So delicious

Can you please provide serving size/nutritional facts based on a cooked rice measurement? Since cooking instructions are based on cooking the bag not 1/4 cup of dry rice.
Really good, but not comparable to rice

I really like the taste, but I would say that this is more so an alternative for orzo than rice.

I have found recipes for orzo better suited than pretending this is rice. The flavor is pasta and tastes fine like all Banza products!

I have been using the pasta for some time now, absolutely the best gluten-free brand. So I had no doubts when trying the rice. My first pack to try was their ginger scallion flavor. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!!!!! Hands down the best flavor ever! The texture is like sticky rice. Went perfectly with my stir fry. Well done.
