[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, I am impressed with the L’Oreal colorsonic. It makes coloring your grays simple after you select the color that best matches your hair. I chose medium blonde, and it was a good match. There are two different applicators that can be used to spread the dye on the hair. I found both to be easy to use. Once I got used to the applicator, dispersing the dye on my roots was an easy process. The packaging is very clearly labeled and I really like the waterproof mat where you can put the tools down to keep your space mess free. I did feel that the applicators were a bit pricey, but I am going to see how many applications I get out of each one.

I loved how it slid through my hair with little to no effort, the included instructions and videos available where easy peasy to guide me through it. The color was amazing. I really like how you can replace with another color if you choose to change hair color. It’s rechargeable which is a plus. Overall, I suggest this device for your next hair change.

The Darkest Brown shade turned out beautifully. It’s a rich, deep brown with a hint of warmth that gave my hair a really nice, natural-looking depth. The device needed to be charged before use—a delay I hadn’t anticipated—and figuring out how to properly warm up the applicator took some trial and error despite following the instructions. When it came to application, the tool really shined for root touch-ups—quick, mess-free, and truly effortless. Unfortunately, applying color to the mid-lengths and ends was more cumbersome and felt unnecessarily complicated. As a former stylist, I found this part of the process less intuitive and more frustrating than simply using a traditional bottle and brush. Color-wise, the result was even and pretty, though not quite true to the label. I used shade 6A (Ash), hoping to cancel out warmth, but it didn’t deliver on that front as expected. For the price point, I’d expect a smoother, more versatile experience—especially for full-head color. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think this tool is great for those who frequently do all over hair color application. It is less messy and very easy. The packaging labels everything so clearly and the videos really help guide you through it. The product itself had a bit of a weird smell, the color and conditioner both - I also felt my hair looked a little bit dry after (photo attached is the day after use) but I also have curly/frizzy hair which require a lot of moisture.

Application was easy to control with minimal waste. It covered well and after 20-30 mins washed my hair and for the most part most of my gray hairs were covered and hair felt soft. Good selection of color choices for the cartridges. I think I would go one color darker next time. The device was a little intimidating at first but once I started using it it got easier. It is a little pricey but instead of going into a salon this is a good option.

I gave this product four stars mostly due to the expense of the Colorsonic device. It’s pretty pricey for what it does. The cartridges are priced ok as I think I can get several uses from each one. I have blonder hair with some highlights and some gray as I get older. I feel this definitely is great for covering the gray hair around the face. It’s easy to load the cartridge into the Colorsonic. It’s easy to brush it through the fine hair around the face and it covers well. It’s hard to tell exactly how much product you have used or how much is left with this device. Clear cartridges would help. I only did the hair around my face for now so I’m not sure how many cartridges it would take for someone with long hair, etc. The smell isn’t terrible, just normal hair color smell. It comes with a conditioner in the cartridge which left my hair soft and easy to comb when wet. I’ll have to check out the other color selections available. I think my daughters that color their hair darker would probably love this system as their hair is all one color. The major benefit of this system is that you don’t have to mix color, developer, powders, etc. The box does show the potential results of the color based on current hair color which were pretty spot on to the results. This will be great for doing up under my hair as it’s about impossible to do that section myself.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a really awesome tool! I received this from Influenster. You basically charge the hand held dispenser. Load it with the hair dye that is already premixed for you, and the center teeth move to disperse the dye into your roots. Very cool, earth friendly packaging. Comes with a cartridge just for water for cleaning afterwards. I can’t say I’ve seen anything like this on the market before, but I’m not sure that I’d grab this to dye my roots. However, it is very precise, and much less messy. I think this would be cool to use for a professional, or someone who is doing the roots of multiple people. The pre mixed dye comes with a deep conditioning treatment as well. It’s very convenient! I’m not entirely sure I would reach for this to dye my roots and I’m not sure how long any extra dye can be saved for later use. Comes with a charger for the tool as well!

5 Stars – Quick, clean, and totally worth it! This product really impressed me. It was very easy to install and use, with a straightforward setup that took just minutes. I also love that it’s rechargeable—no dealing with cords or constantly changing batteries. While the device is a bit on the heavier side, it’s a fair tradeoff because the application process is much faster than the traditional way of dyeing hair. The dye went on smoothly, cleanly, and very precisely, and there was more than enough product included for full coverage. The whole experience felt much more efficient and less messy than usual. Overall, it’s a smart and effective tool that delivers great results without the usual hassle. I’d definitely recommend!

The kit is super plentiful with gloves, a cleansing system, attachments, a charger, conditioner, and a color cartridge. The entire process took less than an hour and my hair was left feeling really smooth and healthy! I had a few gray hairs that are gone now and the overall color wasn’t drastic but made my hair look richer and healthier.

So I had previously had my hair dyed black so all I needed to do was a root touch up but I wanted to get the whole experience and do my whole head. It was really simple to use and troubleshooting was simple as well. The only thing I didn’t like was how thin the dye is. I understand it’s probably processed thinner so it doesn’t gunk up the machine, but I got more dye everywhere then if I do it out of a bottle. But cleaning it up was super easy. I’ve used other dyes that stain my skin and countertop instantly and this did not. It wiped right off. I’d probably use this more for root touch up then doing the whole head. It is a time saver though. I’ll be buying refills for this for sure.

When I started the application process, it seemed to be easy, and then the device started malfunctioning after doing a small section of my hair. After repeatedly trying to get the device to work, I gave up and washed my hair so I wouldn't end up looking like a skunk. The smell wasn't bad, and I couldn't say what the color would look like because I was scared to wait any longer. I didn't want to ruin my hair. I would not recommend or buy again.
