Q: What are the dimensions of the holes in the lid and lip of the tote? and what is their purpose?

A: there are four one on each side of each handle, they are 0.5x1.5" each.

submitted byHMS Customer Service - 2 years agoBrand expertA: Clearly, there are holes in both the lid and the rim of the bin. They're for feeding straps through to secure the bins to a surface such as a car roof basket/rack, truck bed, etc.

These bins are amazing. I recently moved and I bought a few of these bins and they replaced dozens of cardboard boxes. They're super durable and stackable. Nothing broke! Now I have all these bins available for storage and they're definitely weatherproof and waterproof.
