Q: is the cube vertical organizer able to be placed horizontal?
A: Why can’t this be placed horizontally??

Q: would this fit vinlys and a record player?
A: The "inside" of each cube opening holds 13" x 13" baskets easily, so 12" vinyl records should be perfect! What a great use for these shelves!
