Q: What is the finish on these? They’re obviously wood/silicone but what else is added to the wood?

A: The product description says “This product contains Toluene /108-88-3, Xylene / 106-42-3, Ethyl acetate/ 141-78-6,” which are industrial solvents and highly toxic. I ordered these then saw this and immediately cancelled my order. I asked Target why they were selling items with toxic chemicals on them and never got an answer, which is disappointing. Don’t buy these!!!

Cute but hard to clean
They're stylish and functional, so they have lots of aesthetic appeal! But when it came time to wash them, it felt like foods were sticking to the wood/coating/finish. I've only used them three times, and each time I've spent more time soaking & scrubbing them [with many different "tough-on-food-and-grease" dishwashing tools] than actually cooking with them. While they're cute, I find more value in being able to use and clean them properly without worrying about bacteria buildup.

Bad smell, awful quality
I was surprised at how low-quality these are. The finish was already bubbling and peeling off when they arrived, and this has only gotten worse with (very gentle) use and hand-washing. Worst of all, these utensils have a strong, unpleasant scent that you can smell from across the kitchen. What are they made out of? I doubt they are food-safe. I’ve thrown them away and will be purchasing from a more reputable brand. Very disappointed, even cheap items should be decent and safe to use.

Harmful Chemicals
All wooden Figmint utensils contain the harmful chemicals Toluene, Xylene, and Ethyl. I returned immediately after reading it on the packaging and looking it up. Pioneer woman's wooden utensil line is free from harmful chemicals and are cheap and sturdy.

Contemporary Utensil Set
I received my Figmint 4pc Wood Kitchen Set and am loving it. The set arrived in a simple to open package, meaning no extra wasteful packaging. The utensil set is sturdy and well-made, yet, lightweight at the same time. I've used the spatula and turner a couple of times this week to make pancakes, both work great! The entire set is hand wash only and I have had zero issues cleaning each utensil.

I wanted to like them...
They are really pretty and I wanted to like them. I boiled them to sterilize them and the coating bubbled in a lot of spots. The spatula is nice and is a great shape, but the base started to crack on the second use, and once it cracked the spatula head kept falling out.
