A: This item does not have a seal.
submitted byColdfire - 3 years agoA: There is no seal at all. It's a glass lid on a glass bottom. White cardboard separates top and bottom in packing so it won't get chipped.

I wish the jar lid was a little more secure. I purchased a similar jar years ago and there is a rubber/plastic attached to the lid which secures it to the jar when closing it. However, I do love the size and cost of the jar.

Those at store at the purchasing were more or less chipped. I thought I picked two good ones only to find out both were chipped after removing the packaging. The lids arent sealed for food storage as well.

Very cute! I use it to hold my laundry powder. I’ve also used one for my sourdough mother. I couldn’t get clarification about using it for homemade candles, so I tested it out in a safe place. The first candle I made in it was fine. I tried to make another and the glass started cracking from the heat of 3 wicks inside of it. Just an FYI!

This jar is so elegant, looks expensive, and keeps my cookies Fresh! Only con is the lid doesn’t have a suction to keep it down if traveling with something in it (I gave away as a gift), other than that it’s perfect, especially as a cookie jar.
