Alaffia Beautiful Curls Curl Enhancing Shampoo Unrefined Shea Butter - 12 oz

I really liked the Curl Enhance Shampoo but I think the 'recipe' has changed because I find that it's consistency is overly thick and my hair needs to be washed more often due to it looking 'greasy'.

When I was done shampooing my hair (I needed to use a lot of product) my hair felt very dry and hard. I have very oily hair so I look for something that is going to remove the oil but not to the extent this was doing. Even after the conditioner, the ends of my hair was very dry and rough.

Left my hair feeling dry and stripped. I also noticed a ton of my hair falls out whenever I use this product, ended up tossing it in the garbage .

My hair feels clean, less dry, and overall healthier since I switched to these products. I have noticed my waves also have more bounce since I started using the shampoo.

I like this shampoo, it get my hair clean without striping out all my color and weighing down my curls.

Best product ever for my hair in 68 years of effort- too dry, no scalp cleanser, WAY too much trying 100 strokes of brushing for “shine”. Not blonde not straight hair and no one to tell me different. If only I could have found you say, 59 years ago! Love y’all!!

Gentle shampoo. Non-drying. Keeps my curls soft and shiny.

I am VERY happy with the effectiveness of this shampoo, it’s a significant improvement from the store bought brands I was using for my daughter in the past. My daughter is 7, so it’s hard to maintain her hair all the time. This shampoo makes her curls beautiful and presentable for days. Not to mention how good it smells!

Love the consistency of the shampoo. I have wavy hair and it really keeps them light and hydrated. Nothing weighs them down. The shampoo is perfect!

This left my hair feeling stripped of natural oils. The entire line, shampoo, conditioner and cream... it made my scalp dry and didn't help enhance my natural wave. This one is a hard pass for me.

Absolutely phenomenal. I bought it for my little sister because I’ve been trying to educate myself on her beautiful curly hair. My parents have neglected it for too long and as I’ve gotten older. I see her now at age 13 have the driest hair and she’s hates it. She’s very much so insecure about her looks and her hair since everybody in school would make fun of her. So her and I took a whole day to research on her hair and understand what products would work for her 3b/c hair. I discovered this website and my intuition told me to buy these. I have and she’s been using it for almost 2 weeks now and I can not explain how grateful and happy I am for this product & the company as a whole. Her hair is so hydrated & bouncy. I have never seen it so full of life! Truly an amazing product.

This shampoo made my hair extremely oily, but maybe it’s just my type of hair

I have been using Alaffia products exclusively for 8 years. I started using the original Beautiful Curls in 2014. When it was discontinued I switched to Repair & Restore. I then switched to this version of Beautiful Curls after the short journey of R&R. I am sadly disappointed as this formula leaves my hair dry and scalp oily. My hair and scalp loved R&R so I will be moving on to something more hydrating. I am saddened and disappointed at this new formula. Saddened because my hair is sad looking and disappointed because I know Alaffia can do better.

My husband is mixed and I'm white with as straight and thin hair as can be. As a result our daughter has thin, but curly hair in around 2c-3a pattern. Everything else I've tried on her hair has made it look like I put a stick of butter in it. This shampoo and coordinating conditioner leaves her hair curly and healthy looking without weighing it down. Love it!! I don't even need to add any other product afterwards.

This shampoo cleans my hair without stripping it. It detangles and leaves my hair smooth. It smells great too! My curls are very happy and look amazing.

It leaves your hair feeling like it’s not clean but rather heavy and greasy.

I have been using the Curl Enhancing Shampoo for several years and while this is a new formulation, I find it very effective at cleaning my hair. I like the new scent too. For me, I must use a conditioner after shampooing to get my curls back. I use the Curl Enhancing Leave-In Conditioner or the Everyday Coconut Body Lotion - Coconut Lime. Yes, the body lotion, this new version of Everyday Body lotion has shea butter and is thicker than the previous version. And the subtle scent of coconut and lime is sublime. works great in my hair. I still have some of the past versions of Curl Enhancing Lotion, Gel, and Oil. Fortunately, I bought several of each online for fear that they would be discontinued and they were. Great products all, I much preferred the previous packaging as it reminded me of Togo's red soil and Harmattan orange skies.

The smell of this product was so off putting I couldn't use it. I gave it away. So although it may work well, I cannot give it a good review.

It took me a bit to get used to this. The key is you need 3-4 pumps to clean your hair if it's curly and fine, like mine. Don't skimp on the pumps, but it's wonderful because it won't strip your scalp of moisture. I was struggling with dandruff due to my scalp being SO dry. This fixed me up within a week. I haven't tried the leave in conditioner yet. I've been using conditioner on the bottom half of my hair but all in all its a great product and highly recommend it.
