Alaffia Everyday Shea Shampoo Unscented - 32 oz

I used to love this brand but I purchased recently and realized that the new formula is not real soap and has been replaced by cheap chemicals that make it seem like soap but is not. Lauryl glycoside is essentially sodium lauryl sulfate but made from plants instead of synthetic compounds. Real soap is saponified oils which the new product doesn’t contain :( sad reality of people being oblivious to green washing.

I only used this shampoo twice and had to return it. Everyday Shea turned my hair into a thick rubbery mess. My hair looked and felt super greasy, after it dried. The shampoo irritated my sensitive skin; giving me red and burning blotches.

I wanted to like this so badly. I love the ingredients and the pump bottle, but from the very first time I used this product my hair has been very greasy and stays wet for longer than it ever has. My scalp is also now flaking and it doesn’t feel right. The scent is also not good at all, but I expected that since it’s unscented. I have thick oily hair and didn’t have any of these issues with my previous shampoo and conditioner. I’m sad this product didn’t work for me and I have seen so many great reviews.

This shampoo saved my life. I had terrible problems with my scalp, I believe brought on by an allergy to chemicals in many generally available products. I had a bright red very itchy scalp with lots of dandruff for over a year and I was just miserable. I tried many, many shampoos and nothing helped. I found your product and just loved the small number of ingredients listed - so I tried it. It completely got rid of red itchy scalp - and the dandruff, which I have had my entire life and had resigned my left to living with. Thank you!!!!!

Great product, works well on my medium oily hair, like that its unscented as I have allergic people in my life and many products don't have an unscented option.

I want to like this. I like what this company supports with their proceeds. I like that the ingredients are natural and good. But it just hasnt done anything for my hair. My hair looks greasy after washing but feels dry; it looks a mess. Not sure why. Maybe its not for every hair type or maybe I havent been using it long enough but that has been my experience so far.

I've been using this product along with the conditioner for almost a month and the product build up from it is disgusting. My once wavy hair is now straight and greasy.

Been using for 4 months now. My hair has never been happier. It is incredibly shiny and healthy and the dry scalp I have struggled with for years is gone. The natural wave in my long thick hair has improved and I no longer have problems with static electricity in our dry climate. I have gotten so many comments over how pretty my hair is since I have started using this shampoo. And I can use it in good conscience.

Loved everything about this. Only reason it’s 1star short of perfect for me..my Thick yet Very Fine hair was actually over-moisturized. So that’s really just an issue for my type; my sister who has Full hair also, yet not fine, will LOVE THIS!

I used this shampoo because it’s natural and free of chemicals. I have severe allergies and have never reacted to this shampoo and feel comfortable using it. It cleans my hair very good. I’ve used several shampoos since I have mast cell activation syndrome and I never have reacted with this shampoo. It’s good for people who are very sensitive and deal with chemical sensitivities.

I have issues with sensitive skin and major allergies to fragrances. I ordered the unscented Everyday Shea Shampoo and Conditioner and am quite pleased with the results. No itching, burning scalp and no sneezing and watery eyes from fragrance. It has a very slight fragrance but nothing too concerning. I would reccommend these products for anyone with allergies. They leave the hair soft and silky.

This shampoo is fantastic. I wanted something that was similar to the old Shea Moisture shampoo (before they changed the ingredients and ruined it haha). Make sure you read and follow the directions, it makes a difference. My hair loves this shampoo! I am white, and have really straight, fine hair.

After searching for nontoxic shampoo/conditioner for a LONG time online I stumbled across alaffia. Ingredients are great, ethical, environmental...check. It’s so hard to find anything these days that isn’t poisonous or addictive in our food and hygiene products, etc...won’t go down that rabbit hole. When it comes to the product I’m very happy to say it’s amazing. I’ve got curly Scottish locks and they require some nice products to maintain them. Plus, factor in the ‘rona and I’ve got 80’s metal hair. So the odds were stacked against them...but alaffia prevailed, and has really made a difference in my hairs health. Also props to customer service for being radial, and easy to talk to!

I was wondering do you have to use the shampoo everyday?

I have rosacea and very sensitive scalp/skin, this does not irritate at all. It is one of the best frangrance free shampoo and conditioners I have used. Shampoo lathers well and conditioner moistures.

Has a great lather not crazy amounts of soapy feel but still cleans great

I only use the unfragranced shampoo n conditioner for my unruly hair for years its soothing on a hot and soupy humid day in Florida
