Works as described almost completely! A few minor foibles: - The white night light setting is not a warm white, it’s a blue white. Not good for sleeping. - charging cord is only about 6 inches and it’s not a common port anymore so I’d have to order another one - color sensor doesn’t work on textiles. Other than that it’s great and I would happily order again! My 3yo had a huge smile when we were testing it out and after bedtime I heard tapping for like 20 minutes from the next room over as he kept trying it on different things.

I really enjoyed this for my 4 year old, she does not like to sleep in the dark and every other option wasn’t working. With this she was able to carry it with her when going potty and come back and feel comfortable and safe. This was a good way to have a gentle bedtime routine with a little “toy,” that doubles as nightlight and play! I liked the color change mode and enjoyed being able to let my daughter play with both modes and match the colors. She liked experimenting with this and showing me the colors that it provided. It also doubled as a good way to teach my youngest her colors in a fun way. I liked that this was able to be recharged, because I felt that the battery life wasn’t as long as I would like and I’m grateful I wasn’t going through batteries! I honestly used it as both, and I can’t say it was more of one than the other. But it’s been my daughter’s favorite thing to bring to bed and place next to her on the pillow for bed. The only problem was that the only way we could seem to get the color to change was by using the color card that came with the product. My children became very disappointed and lost interest rapidly. The interactive portion was finally figured out but without having the instructions there with you all the time, it was very difficult to use. It is used on occasion for a night light but nothing more. As it did perform according to advertisement, I give it 3 stars. If it held my children's attention it would have been a 4, background music by Bluetooth would be 5 for sure.

The Angelcare Magical Dreams Lumicolor Bear Night Light is a unique night light that doubles as a teaching toy. I received this night light from the Stellar Product Testing Panel in exchange for my honest opinion. My toddlers are a little older, so the color sensing/changing mode was only interesting to them in the very beginning. We have primarily used it as a night light and they love it. They make sure I turn on the bear every night. They particularly love the 2nd mode, which changes colors automatically. (One drawback to this mode is that some of the colors are quite bright. The first few nights of using this mode it actually kept my kids awake due to the brightness. Once they got used to it, it wasn't a problem anymore.) So my 3yo was thrilled when we received the Lumicolor Bear Night Light -- she was so excited while we opened it and went through how it worked, and while it did light up right out of the box, I still made her practice her patience while we charged it. (It's since been over a month and we've not needed to charge it again!) The bear is the cutest thing -- a little polar bear that can either maintain its color, or change color based on what you place it on. She was disappointed to learn it didn't recognize black or grey, but she would move on to placing it on another color and laugh out loud when it changed. She still enjoys it as a toy every once in a while, but where it's really caught on is with my 1yo, who adores it; and I adore that it's soft enough, with nothing he can really tear apart and eat, for him to play with it safely. He's enraptured with its color changing feature, and will spend literally half an hour slowly moving it between surfaces. (If you're a parent to a 1yo, you know how incredible it is to keep them entertained for over 5 minutes with a single thing.) I didn't find it particularly useful as a nightlight, simply as it's not very bright and my 3yo needs a brighter light to sleep by. It's also so portable (and intended to be!) that there's no way we'd keep it in one place enough to serve as a nightlight. As a toy though, it's lovely. (She also uses it to light up her blanket caves, which is the perfect use for it tbh.) One thing I will say is the buttons/switches aren't particularly intuitive; I have since recycled the directions, and I don't remember what each button/switch does, and maybe it's just my fried mom brain, but it's not straightforward at all. We usually just mess with it until it does what we want, ha!

I started using thing night light for my little one bedtime routine and both of us loved it, the light is a good bright that doesn't interfere with my baby falling asleep. She loved playing with the different color options over different surfaces like on her books. There are different level of brightness so you can pick the best one the suits your baby. It rechargers very nicely and has a long battery life. Overall this product has replaced our old night light, she loves it. The light seems very well made and I like that there’s a 45 minute timer and that we can charge with a cable. I say toy because we had more fun using the color changing mode than using it as a plain night light. It came packaged with the bear night light, a USB-A to micro USB charging cable, a 2 sided card with colored squares on it, and a user manual. On the side of the night light is a toggle switch with 3 positions for 3 different modes and a power button. After selecting each mode you hit the power button to start. Mode 1 is the most basic - with a white night light. Mode 2 changes through multiple colors at 10-second intervals. If you like a color in this mode you just tap the power button and it will hold that color. Mode 3 - last but the most unique one. If you select this mode then whatever color the bear night light is on it will match that color. We found this very interesting and tried this on the color cards that are included as well as our different colored clothes! It was such a fun surprise event when my kids saw how quickly the color changed by keeping it on different color flat surfaces. There is 45 mins timer button to if you don't want the light to be on for whole night. The small white button on the bottom of the bear is the button that signals the night light to match the color it is sitting on. This must make proper contact with the flat surface for it to match the color. The battery life is pretty good - I charged it once and used for 2 full nights usage and a day of color changing fun. It has a micro-USB charging port and the wire is included in the box. My one and only concern with this is the small white toggle button near the RGB circuit which I think helps in detecting different colors. If you press that repeatedly then it flashes a bright blue light. And once my kid figured that out she would not stop doing that especially in the night. And when the whole room is dark and this light comes up it's like a very sharp ray of light. If there's anything that can be done so that kids don't do that other than me telling them not to do that it would be a great option 😅 But I do understand that might be very difficult because that's the thing which they detects different colors and that's how it changes color but I just wanted to point that out in my review as well. Overall our fam is impressed with this color changing night light and it would make a good gift for babies and toddlers to keep them engaged for a long time. Definitely recommend this unique and useful toy.

I received this night light to test through Stellar Product Testing Panel, and found it to be a cute and unique night light. I found the 3 settings, especially the color surface mode to be fun and different than other night lights I've seen and used. The bear shape and firm surface made it kid friendly and something my kids all like using at night. They primarily used the color changing mode each night, all night, and then I easily charged it every few days. I did have to set it up to the right number mode, but then my kids could easily turn it on and off. It's a great choice if you're looking for just a kid friendly night light and not a sound machine.
