As a Mom of an 8 year old boy and a 4 year old girl, I am always looking to bring a calm focus to our bedtime routine. The Bobbi Whale Projector did just that! When we first opened it up I was surprised how much my 8 year old was desperate to have the first night in his room! After striking a deal with his sister, we set the projector up in his room. We all immediately loved the light displays and how they shone around the room and gave the whole room a glow. When I turned the sounds on, my son was hooked and my daughter wanted to change turns!! Thankfully we were able to focus on the sounds and lights and enjoy it together before I took my daughter to her separate room. My son stayed content in his room and watched the lights move and listened to the heartbeat sounds while I put his sister to bed. By the time I made it back to check on my son, he was asleep with the lights and sounds turning off on their own thanks to the timer!! WIN!! The next night they both shared the show in her room before my son went to bed grumbling about The second night was just as big a success with my daughter! Her favorite part was that she could hug the projector and keep it in bed with her. The lights and sounds also had a very calming effect on her! Pros: Lights can move! Sounds can be on or silenced! Kids of 4 & 8 both enjoyed the lights and sounds! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This projector was very cute and fit our nursery perfectly as we have a whale/sea theme. However, the sounds and "wave" projection was similar to other projectors we have used and tried, but didn't have as many options. Overall, we really loved the look of this projector but found it wasn't unique enough to really standout from others (except for the whale). Being part of the stellar product testing gave us the opportunity to try it out at least!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Angelcare Magical Dreams Whale is so adorable. It’s a soft stuffie with the controls that pop out if needed. It’s a projector that puts designs on the ceiling as well as an option to play calming sounds or music. You have the ability to turn the volume up or down. My baby loves looking at the designs and listening to the music. My only complaint would be that the designs do not move. I think she’d pay more attention if they did. I would recommend. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved the idea of a projector that could double as a stuffie, so that I could put it just about anywhere and not worry about finding a flat surface, and baby could play with it when it was off or had music playing. And for the most part, this totally was the case. The only con is that the elastic that holds the stuffie onto the projector pops off easily. It’s not loose, but the groove in the projector isn’t fully deep enough to hang on all the way when baby is playing with it. However, being able to toss the whale in the wash when it encounters baby accidents is AMAZING. So, I love the versatility of this projector/night light, but be careful when using it to play with or hug. I was given this night light to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a four year old who finds it hard to unwind before bed. The lights and music were too much of a distraction for him to go to sleep with the Bobbi on, but listening to the music and playing around with the lights helped him switch off and calm himself for sleep. I can see it being great for soothing a baby. Perhaps the most fun with it was had in playtime though. My son took it into a den and pretended he was underwater swimming with the fishes. The blue light display resembles and underwatery and there are little fishes swimming around. On the sounds, there is a wave option, a heartbeat, and a white noise generator. I wasn’t super fond of any of them. The lullaby music is calming but there is only one tune, so I could see it getting old quickly. I received this product through the Stellar Testing Product Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this night light from the Stellar Product Testing Panel and I am glad I was chosen to test it. The plush part of the whale is very soft and easily detachable for washing. The projector part is a hard plastic which can be wiped off easily too. This is both a good and bad thing as it helps with cleaning the parts and changing batteries, but is problematic in how easily it can come apart. My older boys separated the projector from the plush and dropped the projector a few times (thankfully on carpet) and were throwing around the projector too. This could cause a cracking to occur on the projector is done too often or on harder enough surface. There is a place on the bottom of the projector piece where it looks like someone thought to put a charger cord but didn't (see picture). This would be a nice feature to add so batteries would not be a concern. The images and sounds produced by the projector are good. There is no volume control and the sounds could be a pinch louder but it is good that kids can't make it so loud as to prevent falling asleep. We liked the ocean waves and music (which also has water sounds) more than the heart beat setting. No matter the sound setting chosen, it turns off before the lights. This is ok as long as the kids fall asleep quickly, but if they are only half asleep, it can cause them to realize the sound turned off and ask you to reset it and start the sleep process all over again. Therefore, it would be nice to have a timer setting where you can change how long the sounds and lights stay on based on your kids sleep habits/process. All in all, this is a good system but could be slightly improved. Be ready for older kids to like it and want to sneak it away to their room though...and for them to have definite delays in normal sleep routine in the beginning of using this as the newness of it seems to cause excitement. The babies are less likely to notice the change in routine (at least mine didn't show much awareness).

It made her less apprehensive about going to bed alone in her big girl bed. I love the underwater effect that the projector displays on the ceiling and walls. It's soothing and calming. I like that my daughter is able to adjust the volume and choose which sound she wants to listen to. I can't think of anything I would improve with this projector, it's quite perfect and I wish it had been around when my other kids were little! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received Bobbie the Whale through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. My kids were very excited to use Bobbie the Whale. It is a great concept. My kids really liked the light projector as well as the music. The projection reminded me of aquariums or being under water and looking up towards the surface. It was neat having the fish “move” around on the ceiling. It took a few minutes to figure out the battery port was located under the dome and the dome had to be removed from the stuffed whale portion of the unit. Once I figured that out though, it was easy to install the batteries and replace the projector dome onto the stuffed whale. My kids were excited to use Bobbie as their nightlight throughout the night, however, there is an automatic shut off at 25 minutes and I haven’t been able to find a way to keep it on. The first night, my kids got scared when the light shut off and the room went into total darkness. We’ve been using the old nightlight at night and turn Bobbie on for a while, but the lights from the projector don’t stand out as well with the other light. Additionally, it would be nice if there were an A/C adapter so it could be plugged in instead of having to use batteries all the time. Overall, my kids like Bobbie and use it some nights but without being able to keep it on all night, it isn’t as useful as we had hoped.

It was easy to add into their regular bedtime routine and even got them a little excited to go to bed. It is easy to use overall. It doesn’t take up a lot of space, which is great. Also, it fits in well to a child’s room without being a distraction since it looks like a stuffed animal or toy versus looking like an electronic. This helped my child accept it better. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had this whale for quite a while now. My kids have another projection stuffed animal that they still prefer over this one. The lights that this whale projects are not that fun to watch, and the sounds aren't that great either. What I find most annoying is that the plastic projector part pops out of the whale's body way too easily and I feel like I am constantly putting it back together. This could be great if the plush part gets dirty, but my three kids don't care about it enough to get it dirty. One benefit I do see of this projector is that the battery life has been good. It is much better than the other light projecting stuffed animal we have. If whales are a favorite of your child's, maybe this will be the perfect addition to their room. For us, it's just so-so. This is a sweet toy that surprised me by being enjoyed by both my infant (9mo) and toddler (3yo). Pros - really fills the room with lights, nice for multiple ages/stages, machine washable plush, easy to set up. Cons - takes batteries (would prefer it to be rechargeable), sound quality is poor. It's designed to be used to help with sleep/winding down but with the lights and sound my kids both found it too stimulating. So just keep in mind depending on your kid it might be more of an awake time activity or distraction rather than a pre sleep solution.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My boys are 5 and 2, they were both immediately interested in the Bobbi Whale Projector when it arrived and were so excited to go to bed that night……. a little too excited actually. They were so interested in the lights, sounds, and snuggling with it that it kept them from relaxing and going to sleep. I thought perhaps the newness would wear off and the boys would finally use the amazing noises and lights (because they are excellent) to fall asleep, but unfortunately that was not the case in this house. While the lights and sounds were everything this mom could dream of my boys had other plans to use them as a conversation piece instead. Talking on and on about the lighst until I finally had to turn them off so they would actually sleep. I personally loved the fact that this baby is machine washable because my kids can be fresh out of the bath and still end up getting everything sticky and they loved snuggling this projector so it was bound to get very dirty. The washing instructions were simple enough which is always worth five stars in my book. I did not get the chance to use the timer function with my boys because they were too pumped up but I was pretty exited when I saw that was an option. Overall I think it’s a wonderful projector for the right family just not mine and I would recommend it to my friends with young kids or newborns. The water/waves and fish images are fun but not overly stimulating and I love that the light brightness can be adjusted. The white noise feature is used every night, as well. The projector is held inside a soft, plush whale that is washable, making the whole device very kid friendly. It is run on batteries (which are not included) and love that it can be moved from different room to room or for travel. My kids enjoying using it to play with during the day, as well. The auto-shut off feature is very helpful, as well. All and all, this has been a great solution for bedtime and as a bonus, has provided daytime fun as well. My little guy was fascinated when I started using this night light projector. I do a wind down routine with him before bed and this was a great addition! I love that it plays soothing music while he calms down and watches the waves and fish. Now he loves trying to grab the fish on the wall! My favorite feature is the waves, even as an adult it’s calming. The projector is very easy to use. The projector part is the “back” of the whale and does come out of the stuffed whale easily. Which if you also have a toddler then you will be putting it back in constantly! I wish it had like a snap instead because the projector does just slide out easily. Overall, this is a cute nursery addition that I would definitely recommend!

The projector is lightweight and I love that it doesn’t have to plug into an outlet so we can move it around the room. The blue wave lights and orange fish were soothing and pleasing for my little ones to look at. I like that the sound options are simple choices between white noise and calming tunes. We ended up using the projector more for my 2 year old, rather than my 6 month old, to help transition from play time to bed time. The lights and music helped to calm his body. The only thing I would change is the projector would fall out of the stuffed whale very easily. My son liked to pick the whale up by the tail to move somewhere else in his room and almost every time the projector would fall out. All in all, I would highly recommend this projector as a tool for anyone from infants to toddlers to aid in a calming bedtime routine. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Angel care Magical Dreams Bobbi Whale Projector is a hit in my household. With a two year old and a 4month old we got a fair trial of what this particular projector can bring to the table. My 2 year old loved having the fish projected on the wall before bedtime. It allowed them to have a “light” and I appreciated it because of the automatic shut off! No more cracking the door and having to go back upstairs to close the door. That was a nice trade! We also used the Whale projector with my 4 month old naps throughout the day. I appreciated that this projector came with different sounds along with the projection. The heart beat sound was what did the trick for my little one’s snoozes. I didn’t have to do the mom “shush” as much as I normally do! Made both of my kids bedtime/nap time routines more motivating. We even named our whale “Bobbi” which was cute and added to the fun! The underwater projections were nicely done and did not move too fast. Was not distracting, but provided a calming effect in the room. Hard to pinpoint my favorite feature, but it was nice that the projection/sounds could detach from the Whale itself to provide a good spot clean when needed because kids! But because it detaches, I wish there was a button or snap to keep the whale more secure. I did notice that my little ones liked to separate the two pieces more than I would have liked. After we read a story we turn the lights off and watch the waves and fish swirl around us, transforming our room into a magical land as we drift off to sleep. The Bobbi whale has a timer that automatically shuts off after 20 minutes which is great to save the battery life and for our resting minds to stay asleep without any lights on. It's easy to wash after popping the light source out and cuddle but my daughter prefers it fixed on a shelf. As an adult I truly enjoy the ambiance. Two things I wish I could change would be to have rechargeable source that I can plug into a USB and the sounds to be more clear or better quality.
