Angelcare Mushroom Stars Projector

This thing works really well for the price point! It’s cute, lightweight, easily portable between rooms. It matches our woodland theme nicely. The music isn’t the highest quality but it is simple and sweet sounding (a surprisingly pleasant combo of birds, baby laughing and a lullaby tune). Sometimes baby giggles along with the baby sounds in the background. But best of all - the lights work REALLY well! They project far with surprisingly decent sharpness. The stars are easy to see without being too bright to harm baby’s eyes. Only con is I can see an older kid getting tired of the same music

I received the mushroom as a part of the Stellar Testing Panel, and so far my toddler loves it. During the summer my 2 year old got into the habit of wanting to go outside before bedtime to say goodnight to the stars. Now that it's getting colder it hasn't been my favorite addition to our bedtime routine, so I was very excited to see if having this little projector might help her not feel like she needs to go outside before bed every night, and it totally has! Getting to turn the stars and moon on before bed has definitely sped up our routine and helped with some bedtime resistance because she is excited to get to see her stars. Overall I'd say it's been an awesome addition to bedtime and nap time! Regarding the design- it is very cute and the colors could match most rooms. I like that it is small and not super gaudy looking. The texture of the plastic is a bit slippery so I've noticed it is easy to drop (whether it's me or my toddler picking it up). Overall it is very easy to use. I noticed the button that turns on the lights sometimes takes a few pushes/messing with it to turn on and other times it works fine. So far that hasn't been a problem though. We have another sound machine so we haven't used the sound features a ton. When we have used the sounds I've noticed that they aren't are crisp and clear as a dedicated sound machine would be and the sounds aren't as good, so I wouldn't really recommend using it as a dedicated sound machine and would warn anyone buying it to have low expectations for that feature. My daughter does like the nature sounds, but we never use them for sleep. And on the cry feature- I didn't really expect to use that much since my daughter is a toddler, but I turned it on anyway just to see what would happen and I have to say if my daughter is just fussing a bit it totally worked to distract her and help her relax! if she actually needs something, obviously it doesn't really work, but it's great if she wakes up prematurely and starts to fuss. It's pretty sensitive. The only other thing I have to say is that the lights for the projector (in my opinion) can be kind a bright. It hasn't been a problem for my daughter, but I could see it being too bright for some kids.

As soon as we received our mushrooms starry projector we put it to the test. I have a 2 and 6 year old daughters. The shadow of the mushroom and teal color is very cute and inviting to little ones. We used it part of our bedtime routine and honestly didn't see too much of a difference when we didn't have the projector. The starry projected shapes on top of the mushroom are the same as other projectors, the typical stars and moon shapes. I world like to see different shapes for the projector. The illuminating colors orange, blue, and green are nice except it was difficult to see the orange stars (not as bright). The blue light is my favorite! I wish they had at least 2 more color options. The quality of the sounds could be a lot better, it sounds a little muffled. I also would like just a little more options for sounds. We tried sticking to the nature/cricket sound but it just kept them up, my 6 year old did not like it at all. However, I do like the cry sensor option. The mushroom's cry feature detects any loud cry and turns on automatically, including the sounds. It worked well even when my husband coughed lol. We preferred to use our own sound machine along with the starry sky mushroom projector. It's a cute product but can benefit from some minor updates. It has round edges and is very fun for the kids to carry around. It projects 3 different color stars (blue, green, and yellow), has two offered sounds (heartbeat and night noise), and has an on/off cry sensor that will restart the projector. I have 3 children ages 5, 3, and 10 months. My two oldest have already had a star projector so I was excited to compare the two items. The mushroom projector does not spin and does not have a setting to stay on a certain color. I love the shape of the mushroom and it is very durable. I just don't think the features work in any age range. The constant moving lights might be too stimulating for a baby but not entertaining enough for my two older boys. Also the sounds on the mushroom projector are not great. The heartbeat is for an infant and I don't know if anyone uses night noises to help littles fall asleep. I guess the best way to view the cute mushroom projector is either as a cute item or as an experimental item that could grow with you. You can just use sounds first and later on can add lights. Overall this projector is very cute and well made, just not great for my children due to the features.

They like the orange color projection of the stars as the other colors (blue and green) appeared to be too bright. I wish the quality of the sound was better as it wasn't loud enough; however, the sound will be perfect for newborns/infants. The calming sounds and the starry ceiling were very helpful in aiding in the preparation of a goodnight sleep for my grandchildren ranging in the ages of three, four and six. I recommend this musical projection for all kids especially for newborns/infants as one of the features is a cry sensor (this feature was not used by me). The mushroom shape is just “ok” for me personally, but the colors are gender neutral so it will complement any nursery. We were able to test out this item thanks to Stellar Product Testing Panels. This little projector is a nice size, simple, and cute. My three-year-old loved the projections, and it makes a nice nightlight alternative in that way. Unfortunately, the projections turn off after a certain amount of time, so the second night we used it, our three-year-old woke up in the night saying, “I can’t see!” I wish there was a way for them to stay on. Our one year old seems to like the heartbeat white noise, although the consistent static on our other white noise machine works just as well. Overall, it’s simple and if you have to choose between this and a more expensive option, this one will absolutely get the job done.

The lights and projections are bright enough to reach the ceiling but not so bright that it's disruptive to sleep which is perfect. My son adores looking up at them and can now tell me which ones are stars and which one is the moon. The nature sounds with music are good. This is where I would make one adjustment and add maybe a few more instrumental songs. There is only one and it's on a fairly short loop. The heartbeat sound does help my son fall asleep. The buttons and controls are easy to use but I wish the buttons were inset on the bottom as my son will hit them if it is within reach. The cry sensor setting is genius. It works well at detecting a cry from him and turns on the lights and heartbeat sounds for a short period which is perfect for him to fall back to sleep. Whoever thought of that sensor deserves an award! It is truly a lifesaver. I also love the simple appearance of it. When sitting on the end stand or the dresser it doesn't look silly sitting there and could easily be added into nursery decor. Overall great product for any parents with little ones.

I received this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel... Upon unboxing, it was very minimal and I found no cord. I was disappointed to see no way to plug it in, with fear that the batteries would be drained in no time. I was so PLEASANTLY SURPRISED to see that they have lasted so long!! We also ended up bringing it on vacation with us. My son and daughter shared a room and she enjoyed it as well (substituting her current projector also). The fact it was cordless came in very handy although it was switching on in my husband's suitcase because we didn't have a screwdriver to take the batteries out. I started using the product about a month ago and the batteries I installed are still good to go. The projector has a timer so it will shut off. My son is okay with that because his current projector (built into his monitor) has a timer feature as well. We are looking to get rid of the monitor soon so we needed to find a different projector to start weening him to. "The Mushroom", as he calls it, has made bedtime fun for sure! He sleeps well with it. Every now and then he calls for me to turn it on again if it timed out before he dozed off. The projections are basic but he doesn't seem to mind at all. It only has two sounds to choose from but he seems to enjoy one of them so that is fine too. Whatever keeps my guy happy. Maybe less options is better? We do not use, nor need, the cry feature so it has not made a difference, although I like to keep it switched to off.
