Upset that we had to purchase yet another Apple device because they’re not compatible but for the item itself, everything was good. We ordered for pick up, opened it in the store to make sure it was the correct item, or you know, there. and that it worked and everything was good and it connected perfectly fine and the item itself is amazing. Old pencil on the top new one on the bottom, no difference other than the name and the old doesn’t connect to the new iPad.

Saw other comments like this and was hoping mine wouldn’t come the same… came already OPENED and the Apple Pencil had already been used. But paid full price for a brand new one doesn’t make sense on why would get one with seal broken and already tooken out the paper apple puts it on so you know your the first one to open it

Terrible in-store shopping experience

First, the pen itself is fine. I gave a one star rating for a terrible in store shopping experience. Here's the story: I lost my old apple pencil, so I grabbed one from target. I ended up returning this one because it didn't work with my ipad, which turned out to need a 2nd gen. Well, I didn't know this in the very beginning because I wasn't really following the updates of apple product lines and I was totally unaware this stupid pencil now has so many different variants... Well, it doesn't matter right? I could just try it, and if it doesn't work, I will just get another one... Anyway, I bought it in store, went back home, and tried it on my ipad - it turned out it didn't snap and wasn't responding, and it was at that moment I realized I got the wrong one. So I went back to the store and told them I would like to return it. Then, a surprise came. The staff at the customer care counter asked me "is it an opened apple product"? Well, yes. Then she turned her computer towards me, there was a sticker on the screen, saying something like "we don't accept returns of opened apple products". Then what should I do? The staff just kept telling me to return it to an apple store. How does it even possibly work? Do I need to show them a receipt or anything? I asked them questions and they kept telling me "I don't know" and "I'm sorry". Fine, there's nothing more they could do. So I went back home, decided to try my luck by mailing it back to Target. Fortunately, it seemed to work this time. However, this was a very terrible experience overall. First of all, if I can't return an opened apple product in-store, which I'm not sure if it's a general policy or just for a specific store, whatever, I hope they could tell me clearly when I buy this product and maybe put a very obvious notice somewhere, saying WE DON'T ACCEPT RETURNS OF OPENED APPLE PRODUCTS, THINK TWICE IF YOU WANT TO BUY IT HERE. Second, I wish they could at least be a little bit more helpful after rejecting my return. Why didn't they tell me I can return by mail? What do I need if I decide to return to an apple store? How does it possibly work out? They just said NO and I DON'T KNOW to everything. Anyway, I won't buy any apple product from target anymore. Lesson learned.

Bought this as a gift for my daughter. It arrived sealed in an Apple Pencil Pro Box, but inside was a regular Apple Pencil, not the Pro. Not compatable with my daughter's ipad. Target was good about the return, but disappointed to be given the wrong pencil inside a sealed box.
