submitted byJustin - 2 months agoTarget expert supportA: This is the "no Gen assigned" pencil :) . It's AFTER 1st Gen & 2nd Gen and SHOULD be the 3rd Gen but NOPE. It's the USB-C "Gen" lol! After USB-C "Gen" is called Pro, abandoning Generation altogether.

submitted byJustin - 2 months agoTarget expert supportA: They go: 1st generation, 2nd generation, USB-C "generation", then Pro "generation". Don't try to make sense of it but there are actually 4 generations...only 2 have the generation 'nomenclature'.

Q: Will this work with Apple iPad 7, model: A2197, MW742LL/A? (On apple compatibility website, it lists the Pencil 1st Generation as the only compatible version but i cannot tell if this is a first generation Pencil.) Thanks!
A: Hi savedyouareturn, thanks for reaching out about Apple Pencil (USB-C) You are correct that you will want the 1st generation Apple Pencil for your iPad. This one is different, and the easiest way to tell is that this one uses USB-C, which your iPad does not use, using a lightning type charger instead. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.
