The Apple Pencil (2nd Generation) was released in 2021, while the Apple Pencil (USB-C) arrived in November 2023. Most recently the Apple Pencil Pro landed in May 2024. submitted byJustin - 1 year agoTarget expert supportA: They go: 1st generation, 2nd generation, USB-C "generation", then Pro "generation". Don't try to make sense of it but there are actually 4 generations...only 2 have the generation 'nomenclature'.

Q: What is the battery life?
A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about Apple Pencil (USB-C) Apple does not provide an official "hours of use" figure for the Apple Pencil (USB-C), but general information avaialble indicate it has an excellent battery life, typically lasting up to 12 hours of active use on a full charge. The practical battery experience is even better, as the Pencil is designed for efficient power management. This includes having a Sleep Mode (When you magnetically attach the Apple Pencil (USB-C) to the side of a compatible iPad, it automatically enters a sleep mode to conserve battery). A full charge from empty takes approximately 30 minutes when connected to an iPad or a power adapter via a USB-C cable. In real-world use, most users find the battery lasts for days of intermittent note-taking and sketching without needing a recharge. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.
