USB-C ports on the I/O and USB-C Headers aid this board's versatility. The BIOS update is a simple process on the motherboard (CPU Installation not required).

Best blend of features, performance and price

It is my 3rd Asus B650e-i gaming motherboard (yes, I have 3 PCs in my household :)). This motherboard represents the best blend of features, performance and price in my opinion. The improvements I would want to see in the next iteration are: 12 stages (90A) instead of 10 (70A), I would swap Mediatek WiFi chip for a better alternative, also an extra 4pin fan connector and backplate shield would be a most welcome additions.

Great Motherboard so far with Ryzen 9 9900x. Only issue i had was with network card being slow. Tried two different drivers and get same speeds. Some reason it's not showing up as Gigabit. Anyone have the same issue?

Pretty good, but has a few issues...

Issues: Linux won't boot properly unless you disable the onboard graphics, if you have a CPU with built-in graphics, that is. I find the 4 little coloured lights that indicate boot status hopelessly inadequate. My previous board was an MSI, and it has digital read out to tell you exactly what state of the boot process it's in. Compared to that, this is laughable to say the least... Also, I had to flash the bios before I would even boot with my new CPU. Fortunately, you can do this without a CPU or memory installed, but still, crazy I had to do this and there is absolutely no warning, no message, nothing to indicate that's the problem, it just hangs with an orange light that tells you nothing... I think they can do better.

Good product missing a back plate I'm using it in an sff build, space for cables is limited so bit of protection and heat dissipation would have been nice for the price.

On the pricey side, but definitely worth it, made getting my RAM to it's full speed really easy unlock previous experiences with prior motherboards. The supplemental software can be clunky but works as intended. I just wish it was just more modular as opposed to requiring multiple separate and partner programs to install.

I've used Asus motherboards for my last 4 PCs but sadly this one is a bit of a pin. Worked fine for a while. No refuses to turn on even of I clear CMOS, take out RAM sticks, swap them out, try to booth with a single or zero ram. It will not turn on anymore. The annoying part is having to play with CLRCMOS header pins which are hard to reach in an SFF case. I wish Asus put an easier to use button for CLR_CMOS and also put the CELL/Battery for CMOS somewhere easy to user.

Near-perfect ITX board

EXCELLENT board, I'm very impressed and I build a lot of systems so that's saying something. Probably the closest thing to the ideal ITX board on the market today, IMO. Perfect stability, future-proof with PCIe 5.0 on M.2 and x16, no daughterboards or external modules to mess with. Great board layout and excellent audio section, thoughtful extension cable provided for front panel connections that makes it easier to hook up front panel connections than even full size ATX boards (all boards should have this!). The lit rear audio jacks are a nice touch as well. The only thing that could really improve on this board would be USB4 (maybe in the next generation?).

It takes long to boot, even updating the bios, takes the memory light almost a min to go off and the system to boot
1 reply from CLM team - 7 months ago
Dear Fisib, Thank you for your comment. We do understand the inconvenience this may have caused if the motherboard is booting up slowly. This can be a hardware or a software issue. To resolve the hardware issue, please verify all hardware meets the requirements of the motherboard, are working properly and installed correctly on the motherboard. If these were checked good, disconnect any other external devices and load optimize default in the BIOS. If these steps were performed to no avail, ensure Windows clean, or fresh from scratch using this motherboard. Should you need further assistance with the product, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and I will be more than happy to help. Or, you are most welcome to call Product Support Hotline at: 1(888) 678-3688. Also, you can chat with an ASUS live support agent from the link: https://www.asus.com/us/support/article/1135/. Easy to install ITX MOBO

5 out of 5 stars
M S Bateman - 11 months ago
originally posted on https://www.asus.com
I kept returning to this motherboard while researching my first SFF (Small Form Factor) gaming PC. I’m pleased to say it’s worked out well. Installation was easy, and with the help of some online guides and the manual, everything worked straight away. My only critical comment is about the instructions for the main NVME slot. I followed along with the instructions for an M.2 2280 card, and it was written that installing a rubber riser was optional. So I didn’t bother. After installing it, I could see the M.2 card bending uncomfortably. Looking online, this appeared to be common. So, I installed the rubber riser, and this reduced the bend quite a bit. As such, I would say it’s mandatory, not optional. Otherwise, a great MOBO and I’m very happy with it.
