Q: Can this be grown outside? Or does it have to be inside? (Looking for plants to grow on my balcony)

A: Hi Joy! Yes, our Kitchen Herb Garden can be grown outdoors. However, we recommend bringing the planters inside if rain is expected to prevent overwatering. Additionally, it's best to wait until overnight temperatures consistently stay above 50°F before moving them outside. Had high expectations for this kit. The only herb that seemed to grow without any problem was the cilantro. Mint grew a little bit. Basil never bloomed.

Only the cilantro sprouted, but even that wasn’t a great yield. We’ve grown many seeds, and these are clearly very cheap or not even the correct seeds at all. Also the tin cans as growing pots is just an awful idea.

Great concept, but 2/3 didn’t grow at all. Clear and easy to follow directions (even with kids!) Unfortunately, we followed the directions, planted and cared according but the basil and mint didn’t grow.

My husband and I bought this thinking it would be fun to grow some herbs in our house while we wait for things to warm. It took forever to see any progress - fine as that's the nature of seeds! However, I knew something was up when only the cilantro sprouted and nothing came from the mint or basil seeds. I have both the mint and basil some more time as I know seeds can have different germination rates. I kept the soil lightly moist as the directions instructed. That only seemed to work for the cilantro! After the cilantro seedlings got so tall, I lightly disturbed the top layer of soil to see if the seeds even started the sprouting process. They have not. This is very disappointing! The pack came with extra seeds so I'll try again but I really don't have high hopes. Honestly, you're better off buying actual seed packs and using little planters instead of this over priced kit that does produce.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought 3 of the Kitchen herb gardens; one for me and one for each of my daughters. My review is based on my herb garden. I am still watering each one as the instructions directed. I haven’t seen anything come up yet. I will be entering the 3rd week and I believe I will start with the TBSP of water. According to the instructions, this is a free ve week process . So I’m just waiting for now.

These did not grow even after 2 months. My children are still waiting for them to sprout, at this point I have given up. Disappointed.

These seeds didn't sprout but I love the company and my tomato plant. I have several long tomato sprouts now so the herb can kit didn't work but the tomatoes are going to be lovely =) I'll order another one and post a video of the tomato plant with a 5☆ review for it soon!

I bought a few of these kits when I saw these in the store excited to try my hand at gardening. The 100% growth guarantee had me looking forward to a mini garden in no time. Unfortunately, although I followed all the instruction to a 'T', I had no success. The customer service was great, but the product itself just didn't work. I even tried to start a few seeds using the paper towel method, but no sprouts except for a few from the basil before it quickly died once carefully transplanted to the provided soil.
