Barbie Hiking Doll has many of the features I was looking for. I photograph her in the garden, so she needs sturdy shoes. Barbie Hiking Doll appears to be the only Made to Move Barbie with boots. If there were others with boots, I would probably buy those as well. Her skin tone is attractive and inclusive. I like her bendable elbows and knees. I wish her shoulders and hips were more flexible. I can't get her elbows to extend behind her. And when I seat her I can't get her spine at a 90-degree angle to her legs. She leans back a few degrees, a posture that would be uncomfortable in a person. After I bought her I learned that other Made to Move Barbies had flexible ankles. Hikers need flexible ankles, too! It's a tradeoff, of course. A doll that moves and poses more realistically is bound to cost more. For the price, she's a good value. Suggestion: instead of the puppy and the trail mix you can give her some extra boots so she can take friends along with her on the trail.

My daughter is 8 and has several Barbies, but this one daughter her eye because we just went on our first family camping trip this past summer, so she’s been interesting in pretending to camp and hike with her dolls. She really likes the accessories this came with, which include a map (not paper, thankfully!), a sunscreen bottle, a water bottle, and a backpack with a dog figure, among a few other small items. This is the first Barbie doll that my daughter has owned that has movable joints, and that has been a huge hit!! My oldest daughter is wheelchair-bound, and my middle child (owner of the doll) is ecstatic about the fact that she can actually seat this doll as if she is a wheelchair user. We appreciate that the doll is doing something active and has very practical accessories like sunblock! My daughter’s favorite accessory was the backpack that has and opening for the puppy. We both thought it was very cute and fun. The backpack is made of a soft plastic and it’s buckle was difficult for her to unbuckle by herself. I also needed to help weave barbies arms through. This Barbie set had so many items that fit so well with the theme of hiking, from the map the Barbie can hold, to the little bag of Trail-Mix, it has it all. My daughter is just starting to play with Barbies, and when we let her open this one up, her eyes lit-up and just hugged her so tightly, it was clear she liked it. I received The Barbie Spa Day Doll - Hiker free through the Mattel Play, Rate & Review Program in exchange for my honest opinion. The doll comes with a lot of great accessories. I chose this doll because of that. It has a cool map, a backpack with a puppy, a camera, sunscreen, sunglasses, a water bottle, a flashlight and a snack. The doll in addition to clothes has a hat and hiking boots. My 5 year old son plays a lot with superhero figures that are the same size as Barbies. I got this for him to play with when he plays with his superheroes. This doll is great because he has a regular person to interact with the superheroes and for the superheroes to rescue. He generally does not play with toys that are traditionally for girls but he liked this because of all the accessories that come with it. It made it more realistic for him to use when he plays. This doll comes with so many things that my kids are into right now: a dog, a camera, snacks, and a flashlight, so it was nice to match their interests. It's nice that the items fit in the backpack; except for the map, too bad that doesn't fold up or somehow store too. Dog is a little hard to get in and out of the backpack. The kids like that she is posable and can do many things. I like that this doll looks like a normal, friendly teenager that my daughter can relate to, like the big girls at her dance studio. My daughter literally screamed when she seen this doll. It comes with so many accessories with details to them. The doll is one of the really good barbies that every joint moves on her. Her wrists, ankles, elbows and knees completely bend and move to have full range of movement. It allows the barbie to be really realistic and for it to do everytjing your doll would want it to do. My daughter said all barbies need to be made like this. The dolls hair is long and brown and put up very stylish looking along with the clothes she is wearing is stylish now. She comes with a camera, flashlight, map, backpack, dog that can fit in the backpack, sunglasses, water bottle, a hat ,sun screen and even a little bag of trail mix. So adorable. The accessories all have a way for the barbie to be able to hold it to make it real as you can get. The dolls shoes are brown hiking boots and they look like boots people would actually wear. This set really exceeded my expectations. Barbie is so pretty and I really like her outfit. She stands 11.5 inches tall with bendable arms and legs. My daughter likes her a lot. It comes with 9 accessories and they are all colorful and well made. I liker her blue hat, silver camera and a pair of brown boots. Of course, the pink backpack is also so wonderful and it carries the orange puppy. It has a good measurement and it covers Barbie’s back. The backpack matches her shorts and its so attractive.
