I was trying different clay pomades, specifically with a matte finish and a strong hold. This one is very hard, possibly dried out under the seal. I rinsed it out of my hair at night and went to bed, and got acne on my forehead where my hair touched the skin.

Works great and makes wavy-ish hair look great! I use it every morning and just love it. Last me about a month.

It's very very firm so it takes a little rubbing with your hands to warm it up for easy application, but once you've done that, it applies normally and holds like no other.

Clay is correct. Extremely sticky clay, nearly solidified in the jar. This pomade is for really wavy, thick, very thick hair.
Best hair styling product ive tried.

This product is amazing but you really have to learn how to use it properly. For me, the best results I get is to let my hair dry naturally as I'm doing my morning routine. Use a very very small amount of the clay pomade and really warm it up in your hands. Like rub your hands together for 15 to 30 seconds until they are very warm. Then distribute through hair and shape. You can always add a bit more for the sides or bangs etc but if you use too much the first time you'll know it. It will be hard to shampoo out etc. But if you use the right amount it will be fine when shampooing the next day. I actually like that it adds a small amount of moisture to my hair so it doesn't look dried out and it feels healthy but doesn't look wet and sticky either. The first couple times I used the product I used way too much. Definitely start small and increase if needed. Also it's great value and lasts a very long time.
Decent product, but not for everyone!

It’s a very hard product. You really need to warm it up by rubbing it in your hands so it can spread out evenly. Probably best for shorter haircuts. It also doesn’t wash out easily. I guess that might mean you can save a little the next day. Hold is pretty good. It should be easier to use for the price.

I use it very lightly on just-washed hair just to tame things down a bit

It holds my hair and looks natural. To boot, my wife thinks it smells great! Although I am sure other good products are out there, this one is so good I am not thinking about looking elsewhere.
Not a substitute for the Hard Cream Pomade

Not as flexible and doesn't have the same texture as the hard cream pomade. I usually get the hard cream pomade and the only reason I tried this was because they are sold out of their own products for months. This is not an adequate substitute so do not buy if you think it's a one for one sub.
Good product... but expensive..

Good product, and has good quality. However, I'm not convinced that it is worth the price that it is sold for. Very expensive when you get comparable product and quality at other brands at cheaper prices.

Great product for short spikey hair, I've used it for years. I found it for a good price on Target, I was a little leery that it would be the original product and it was. I received my order quickly and in excellent condition.

I came across baxter after reading some reviews online with my own doubts. I have been using it for few years now and I would highly recommend for someone with soft, thin and straight hair. I have used many grooming products but this one hands down has been the best so far. Also love the natural ingridients used to produce the clay. Very happy with the product and will keep using it unless the quality drops!

It works as advertised and that is more than enough. Keeps my hair in shape and it washes out cleanly. Yes, it can take a little work, at first, to get the right amount out of the jar but other similar clay pomades are just as, if not more, difficult.
Surprisingly excellent on longer hair

I've been trying pomades, gels, sprays, etc for 30 years and this is one of the best things I've found for fine, wavy hair. Just a little bit of this pomade goes a long way and holds my waves without my hair feeling crunchy, looking wet, or getting tangled (I have long hair). Yes, it's sticky when it's on your hands, but when you massage it into your hair, it dries normally and gives you a bit of texture. I've been using it regularly for almost 8 years and I've never had an issue washing it out of my hair.
I liked nothing about it

Hello, I have thick straight hair, much like the models used to demo this clay pomade. The product worked awfully for me. It wouldn't spread no matter how much I rubbed it between my hands, and it would also not apply. You'd think it wasn't a hair product. I wound up ripping so much hair out. It's also a massive pain to wash out.

Although I loved the product for what it did to my hair, it gave me immense amount of acne. I admit my mistake that I didn't always wash the product off before going to sleep, leading to the product to my pilliow, and from there to my face (my theory). But a product isn't supposed to be like that, I suppose. It was a horrible experience that ruined myy face with pimples for many months. I'd use it very carefully or simply just stay away from thiz
