Q: What ingredients are needed to make these cookies?

A: I came to this Q&A a few hours ago for the same reason. There weren’t any answers. So, I’m here to give them to everyone! You’ll need an egg, water, and 1/2 cup of one of the following: butter, margarine, or “spread.”

I use Betty Crocker cookie mixes exclusively when I take cookies to work. They are simple and if you follow the directions, turn out well every time. Kid friendly, too, there are only a few ingredients to add - eggs, oil, maybe a smidgen of water... that's it. Once my cookie sheets are hot from the first batch, I DO shorten the baking time. Just watch your cooking time and let the cookies cool slightly on the baking sheet once you have taken them out.

I followed the instructions on the back, and this mix made a fast, perfect batch of snickerdoodles. They taste super close to snickerdoodles I’ve made from scratch and they baked up perfectly. I’d buy these again anytime. Note that I did use butter, not margarine or shortening. If you don’t tell people, you used this mix, I highly doubt they would be able to tell.

Honestly these are good for a baking mix. Follow the directions and they should come out fine. Don't melt the butter not even a little because that will change the consistency of the dough. I also wouldn't use oil. I know you can technically but I just wouldn't because adding too much can change the dough to be too loose. If you do run into that issue I suggest adding a little flour. Just enough to be able to form the dough into balls. Personal baking experience. Just don't add too much or you'll change the flavor. Maybe like no more than a tablespoon or two.

I used to purchase these and my children loved them. It was nice to have an easy option. But now that Betty Crocker has added milk into their mix, they are no longer safe for my milk-allergy son. How disappointing that a big company would add in allergens that were not there for years and now makes their product less safe for people with already limited diets. Super disappointing. Food allergies are on the rise. Many companies are expanding their range of products where it seems BC is limiting theirs. Sad.

I thought these were great! I saw the bad reviews before I bought them, and still decided to try them since they are pretty inexpensive. My whole family liked them! You add your own butter and egg of course, and I used Kerrygold butter which is delicious and honestly I thought these were pretty darn good.

I'm not sure what these cookies aim to be, but they are flavorless baked globs with cinnamon on them. If that's your thing, go for it. Mine went in the trash. There's so many great cookie options out there to waste time on these.

I followed directions exactly you couldn’t even roll the dough into the a ball because it was so sticky and wouldn’t hold its shape. The cookies came out nasty.

I don’t know how anyone is managing these into actual cookies. Recipe calls for too much butter and makes the “dough” unworkable. Never again.

Please be aware that the main picture shown and the ingredients list below are outdated and don't show milk as an ingredient. I have been craving cinnamon sugar cookies for weeks and was so happy to find these only to see it "now contains milk" why???!! Having correct labels is very important to people with food allergies.

The best cookie and super easy to make. Leave stick of unsalted butter out on counter the night before to soften. Get egg to room temperature. Mix egg, butter and 1 tablespoon of water. I added 1/2 teaspoon of real vanilla extract and mixed using a pastry cutter. Once blended I put in refrig for 30 mins. I put the cinnamon/sugar mix in a small bowl and after rolling the dough into a ball I put 2 in the sugar cinnamon bowl and shook the bowl so they would get coated. Much easier doing it this way rather than rolling with my fingers. Cooked at 350 for 12 mins. While the first batch of cookies were baking, I put the batter in the freezer until the first batch of cookies came out. This was the first time I ever made them and I will get more mixes to have in the house. They are soo good!!
