A: Hey! Our Deep Pore Charcoal cleanser is great for deep cleaning oily skin. If you are looking for a cleanser specifically for blemishes we recommend our Charcoal Acne Clearing Cleanser or Witch Hazel Pore Clarifying Cooling Cleanser because they contain salicylic acid. Hope this helps!

Q: Hi, I am wondering if this facial cleanser can be used twice daily (morning and night) or if it is too harsh for that. If it is not recommended to use twice daily, is there a lighter face wash that can be paired with it to use at night? Thanks!

A: Hi, Holly. We recommend using this cleanser once a day if you have normal to oily skin. If you have very oily or acne prone skin, try using it twice a day. If you experience any redness or irritation, reduce it to once a day or every other day. For a cleanser to use in between, we recommend a lighter wash that will remove makeup as well. We like the CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser. Hope this helps!

Not everyone has "Oily Skin". Not sure why Target stopped stocking the Original Biore Charcoal face wash with this one. This product is horrible. I got a breakout and my face doesn't feel clean. Please get the original back. Used it for years and never had an issue. I dont know how this has 4 stars.

This product is terrible. I didn't know they are allowed to put acrylates in a FACE wash. I broke out like crazy because I am allergic to acrylates and I got this without knowing they put those chemicals in here. Terrible product that did more damage to my skin. I had clear skin and now I'm still healing from a full on breakout. Don't buy cheap crap like this especially if you have an allergy or sensitive skin. I would put 0 stars if that was an option.

Recently they’ve changed their packaging and I’m assuming the formula as well because it has an awful smell now and doesn’t seem to be leaving my skin feeling the same anymore. I love this face wash. I’ve used it for years. However, the last bottle I bought ( I bought two at the same time) smelled very different. Almost like a floral scent, but not a good one. I opened the second bottle thinking it was just an isolated issue and the second bottle smelled this same. It’s awful, even my kids said it smelled off. If this is the new version, I am going to have find a new product.

I did not intend on buying this product but I saw there was a good deal at the time for it on the Target app and I love the powers of charcoal so I thought I’d give it a chance and hope to be pleasantly surprised…Nope. This wrecked my skin creating more clogged pores than doing the opposite like the packaging claims. I gave it an honest run for 2 weeks as well. It may feel like at first the charcoal is working from the tingling but that’s instead from the added menthol (mint) — a cheap way out from using more of the expensive charcoal ingredient.
Great for oil, but didn't help with my blackheads.

I've tried it all (cerave, cetaphil, and many others). This is the best salicylic face cleanser I've ever used. My routine - I cleanse with this product once a night (any more is too drying for me), then I moisturize. It has been a month now, and my acne is finally under control, and my pores are the cleanest I have ever seen! My two cents - This product has a cooling sensation, so make sure your skin barrier is not compromised before using this product. This could potentially lead to more skin issues, and you will end up hating this cleanser and never over cleanse. Keep it simple, stay consistent, give it time, and moisturize with a non comedogenic moisturizer.

The menthol being strong doesnt bother me. I actually like it. It's pretty refreshing. But the cleanser just does nothing for my skin at all. My pores are not any cleaner or tighter. Skin isnt smoother. Ive had better products.
