Q: how do you tighten the chain?
submitted by janet - 7 months ago
A: How to tighten the chain. Place the saw on a firm surface and rotate the tensioning knob counterclockwise to its stop. Align the arrows on the sprocket cover and tensioning knob before replacing the cover. Hold the bar still, replace the sprocket cover lining up the bolt hole, then rotate the bar adjust locking knob clockwise until snug. Finally, loosen the knob one full turn to properly tension the chain. We hope this helps, thank you.

I bought this particular chainsaw on a recommendation by a friend and he was absolutely right. I was looking for something to cut brush and a few trees but it needed to be lightweight for me to handle. I don't mind admitting I am a 64 year old woman and this was perfect! Has quite a bit of power to it as well. I am very pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend it!

I bought this to trim tree limbs from 20 year old pines and had doubts about its ability. On the 20v battery I run other tools from, it did an amazingly easy job of trimming good size branches.

Have had this saw two years. It is the easiest to use chainsaw I have ever use. Works really great for those quick trimming jobs or to trim limbs off of a downed tree. Only problem I've had is the chain oil tends to leak.

Got this about a month ago. Used one charged 20 volt battery while the 20V max charged. Had to switch out but still made the job so much easier. No problem cutting through several 6 inch limbs and then cutting them done to a size form them to be hauled off and for fire wood.

I think this 20V MAX* Lithium 10 in. Chainsaw is really nice. It was easy to use. It did a good job cutting down some trees around my house. It is not too heavy. I liked it, and I would recommend this product.

I bought this to cut the honeysuckle and branches in my backyard. Works well for my needs. When the battery get low quits working but overall it is great. The best thing would be to 2 batteries so you can keep working.

Love my new 20v Black & Decker chainsaw. Very handy for small stuff around the yard. I also have B & D 20v drills, blower, hedge trimmer, and weed eater. All the batteries are interchangeable so I always have a backup battery.

Works great. I had a plug in electric before that burned out, so was hesitant to try a battery powered one, but was glad I did. This has lots of power for cutting up good size branches, etc. I have a B&D drill that takes a similar battery so I have a spare. My only minor concern is that I am having trouble finding a spare chain and bar for it, that can be shipped to Canada for less than an arm and leg!
Quick and handy

Not for large jobs but for small tree cutting and trimming it's fine.

Nice battery operated saw. It is great not having to be cord aware. I replaced a corded saw with this cordless model and it has served me well. Battery life has not been a problem so far as it has maintained an adequate charge to accomplish m trimming tasks.
Good but not great.

I gave it a 3 star because if you limit the size of the logs you cut to 5 " dia you will likely be ok. I am on my second saw. The main reason is I tried to use it for 7" dia logs. If you try this for any about of time the saw motor will start to burn. Used carfully you will fine it very useful. By the way the 18" 15amp is a complete beast that will hang with any gas saw. Harry

I bought this chainsaw a couple of weeks ago hoping to use it for cutting some firewood for this season. The power is weak, and the battery discharges within 20-30 minutes of using it. It’s making what should have been a simple, relatively short task, MUCH more complicated as I have to do it in very short shifts while I constantly wait for the recharging to complete. Not happy.

I needed this chainsaw for several small trees and it is most definitely serving its purpose. I have used it for some larger trees and it handles them just as well.

I purchased this saw about two months ago and have used it in pruning Fir and Hemlock limbs, cutting unwanted small trees from landscaped areas and most recently in removing limbs and cutting firewood from large trees we took down around our home. It will make numerous cuts of good size limbs and trees. Some were in the 6" to 8" size range. I have other B&D tools, so I have two chargers and three batteries. Each gives plenty of run time. The chain is high quality and cuts like crazy. No extra pressure required. A good saw for light work.

I have this saw for several months now. Works great but wish it would have come with 2 batteries. has more power than i would have thought. I also have a Circular saw which i have had for about 50yrs. now it still works great and i use it more than my other saws with laser.

I ordered this amazing chain saw for my husband. He is 83 yrs young. Had a lot of trimming, cutting branches, etc. He said he used it for an hour and half before battery needed recharging. He has told numerous people about this great fine. It is easy for him to handle. No hard cranking like his old ones. I am so glad that he is able to handle this chain saw, and so pleased he really enjoys it. Wish I had thought and taken his picture using it. Maybe next time. Thanks.

I purchased this as I have several B&D 20 V tools. This works with small 1" to 10" jobs. It is easy to handle and use around my 7 acres.
