Black & Decker LE750 EDGEHOG 12 Amp 2-in-1 7-1/2 in. Electric Edger

I have had this edger for nearly 17 years. It has held up to the test of time. The maintenance is quite simple by just cleaning after each use. I typically only replace the blade one (1) time each year. I use the item biweekly, and it has never let me down.

This is the second B+D LE750 (Type 7) Edger/Trencher that I have purchased. The first LE750 (Type 7, wired, 120VAC) I purchased in 2019 and was used several times a year (not heavily) and died from failure of the 120VAC motor brushes. The brushes were not worn out but rather broke apart. Should have been an easy repair via brush replacement but replacement brushes are available, either through B+D or other online parts sources. Much as I love the job this edger/trencher does and its design, I cannot recommend it to anyone that expects to be able to repair it.

Easy to handle, even with a cord (I'm using 150' of cord!), and it does a neat job. My walks were overgrown with about years of no edging, and the Black&Decker cleaned them up very nicely. I went over them twice, the second time in "trencher" mode. Nice!

Such a reliable tool! Love the ease and the clean edging makes my lawn look professionally trimmed.

For three years this has been a great product. However, it just stopped running. Being an engineer, I took it apart to see if it was something simple. The brushes on the motor are worn out which are usually simple to replace. However, try getting replacement parts! The two stars are for B&D's parts availability. A couple of review sites on line list this edger at or near the top, however I can't recommend it unless you like replacing the entire edger every few years.

It gets the job done but I wouldn't recommend it over similarly priced equipment. I just finished edging a sidewalk for the last two hours. The stuff I was cutting through was approximately 4 inches of small ice plant. There are three things that were sorely lacking: 1) a detachable guard; 2) a swing joint on the handle to pivot 180 degrees horizontally relative to the blade and 3) something like a plow or dozer to clear all the dirt and vegetation that was accumulating in front of and below the machine. That said, it had plenty of power and didn't get stuck. The blade held up despite throwing sparks from frequent contact with rocks and concrete. The spin direction punted the debris away from me, which I appreciated. It's not bad, but with a few tweaks it could be great.

I used the edger 3 times. During the third use, it stopped working. I contacted the so-called customer support, but basically all they do is tell you to try plugging the edger into a different outlet. Duh! Customer support personnel then went on to tell me that the edger is just out of warranty but that I could take it someplace to be repaired at my expense. Thankfully, my garbage man comes every Thursday. This edger will be headed to the landfill where it belongs. R.I.P.

Bought new and only lasted 2 summers. Developed a short somewhere, squeeze the trigger and it may or may not work randomly. After the model change and absent black handle, it’s not a stable edger.

This piece of equipment is terrible. I tried using it twice. It can't even cut through hard ground. Don't waste your money.

Had same model for over 9 years. Easy to use. Works better than a gas edger I replaced this model with. Best edger I have used. Lasted longer than other edgers I owned. Powerful

I purchased the Black and Decker Landscape Edger/Trencher and it has been a great additon to my landscape tools! Makes it easy!

I bought this machine early spring 2020 after Seeing it on YouTube and doing extensive homework on it. MONEY WELL SPENT!!! My grass edges look incredible. My curb appeal is amazing. LOVE IT.

My sidewalks hadn't been edged in many years. This a very good edging machine. It took me just a couple hours to make my walks look nice

Excellent product and easy to use. This is my second one I've bought since moving into my house in 1995 and it has never failed me.

I have used it several times for edging and trenching and it has worked well. Adjustments are easy and there is plenty of power. One item of note, when you are edging along a sidewalk, the wheels work well and keep the tool balanced. However, when edging along a curb, which is the situation with most of my yard, both rear wheels cannot ride along the curb due to the profile of the curb. This situation requires me to rotate the toll to the right to make sure the blade contacts the ground as close to perpendicular as possible. It would be useful if there was a device that came with the tool that could be attached to the shaft and extending to the left of the shaft, which could be used to apply pressure to tilt the tool to the right to keep it level.

I like the way it edges the sidewalk and driveway and this new model seems to self clean itself.

Buy this it works great. Easy to put together and use. Light weight

I used it for the first time today and really like it. Very quick and easy edging. Used the B&D trimmer edger for three years and finally decided to get this edger. Like anything else it will take a little getting used to but works very well.
