This is an excellent, hard to find, item. However, a hint for cornbread. Mix with water, use a fork. Twice as much water as meal. Place in covered bowl in microwave for 30 seconds, allow to cool. This softens the coarse meal, but you still get the chunks and flavor. May have to experiment a bit as this will vary the overall fluid balance of the recipe.
Coarser means it is Great! Slow burning, complex. delicious , unprocessed, whole plant protein!

all I added was a little more Bob's Mills gVital wheat protein, and a bit of sweetener/salt:lite. I then sprayed the pan, and made the yummiest HEALthiest Flatbread...ccoarser , the better, then you can taste the yumminess when you chew it..no oil, just a bit of spray. It's all about health to me, and this is not fattening at all..I love it, Bob!!

I thought I would love this coarse grind for my homemade corn muffins, but it is SO course, you still end up with hard bits of hull in the finished muffin. It's like eating a bit of pebble in your muffin. I guess I should look for a recipe from Bob - maybe soak the cornmeal first?

My husband is from Mississippi, and he is very particular about his cornbread. Much of the cornmeal in stores is over-processed and too fine. This is exactly what I wanted! I ordered online, along with the medium grind, but now I wish I had only ordered the coarse. Lesson learned.

I love Bob's Cornmeal! Always tasty and I use it for lots of things: I add it to homemade bread recipes, pizza crust, tarts, and of course corn bread and corn muffins. I use their recipes on the back of the bag and I am never disappointed. I use all three grinds and sometimes mix course and medium, But I am partial to the coarse grind.

This cornmeal makes the best cornbread. I love the texture. I had to purchase more with Thanksgiving coming up I need to have it to make my mom's sausage cornbread dressing. It is just not Thanksgiving without it. I make my cornbread using Bob's Course Ground Corn meal in my cast iron skillet....it is simply the BEST!

I have been making skillet cornbread for years and when I couldn’t find my favorite brand anymore I tried Bob’s coarse as well as medium grind cornmeal. They both have a wonderful rich corn flavor, something that has been missing in prior brands I have tried. You feel like you are consuming something very nutritious. If you are looking for more fiber, more protein and a slightly chewier texture, you won’t be disappointed!

I love cornbread. I use my own recipe and mix this with the medium grind. It really makes the recipe so much better. Store brands are all finely ground and taste all the same unless you add corn, cheese, or any other add ins. This really makes cornbread-cornbread without extras.
