Description
The Bodum JAVA 4pc coffee set is a prefect way to enjoy craft coffee at home. The key to brewing great coffee is allowing adequate time. French press coffee is ideally served once it has been left to sit for four minutes. After pouring in the hot water, stir the coffee grounds and flip over this classic sand timer. The sand will run out at exactly the four minute mark, which signals that your coffee is ready for pressing. Finally, put the finishing touch on your coffee with frothed milk!

Q: I got this coffee press set, but the frother was defective. I installed batteries but it didn't work. Checked compartment were the batteries go, it had a missing copper end for one of the batteries. Other units at store were the same. Is this normal?

A: Our frother from this set also does not work. One of the plastic tabs that holds the cap on to keep the batteries in place was broken when we opened the box, and after reading the reviews I can see that many others have gotten this set with a non-functioning frother.

I bout this in hopes to avoid plastic that is in my current coffee maker. This has a plastic rings around the top and the hot water/ coffee has to be poured through this plastic ring. I didn't want hot water going through plastic or I would of just kept my current coffee maker. I was hoping this would be better but it's not!

This French Press is TERRIBLE!

When we accidentally broke our French press we needed a replacement asap. When we brought this home the first time we found it was in pieces and parts missing so we couldn’t even put it back together. We returned it and the new one is all together, but it is cheaply made and BE VERY CAREFUL when you pour as the plastic holder doesn’t actually hold the glass part in so when you put the glass part slides out. Overall the black parts are all plastic and they feel like they might snap any second. I’m surprised this one is so cheapy considering it was $25. Our last one we paid half that price and it was all metal and glass, lasted us at least 6 years or more til we accidentally tipped it over and cracked the glass. So do yourself a favor and buy some other model- this one is total garbage.

Lid was broken when I opened the box. I askwd bodumif I could get a replacement instead of returning the whole french press, inevitably ending up in a land fill, and they wouldn't replace it. I'm sure Target would let me return it, but I would never use another bodum product. I'm just buying a replacement lid on a used site but I wish I just ordered another brand.

Bought this as a gift for my dad and he loves it! Brews good coffee and stays hot for a long time. Only down side is the handheld frother never worked (replaced battery twice) and we did not have the measuring spoon as pictured😞

I’ve bought many French presses. Most get cracked or broken because they’re glass. This one the glass is loose in the form. Turn it upside down and it slides out. There is no way to tighten the holders either.
Read the instructions, though. There's an art to the perfect brew.

Cheap, but does the job. Comes with a timer, a hand held frother, and a scoop to make the perfect coffee. Press down GENTLY, y’all. Else you’ll get coffee grounds everywhere. Only thing that sucks is cleaning the filter, it’s a bit tricky.

After approximately 20 minutes of trying to get the frother to work and ultimately turning to YouTube for answers, the frother turned on for less than 10 seconds and has never worked again, the press itself allows so much coffee grounds to get through that the whole bottom of my cup is full of ground when I finish. The only parts that work are the scoop and the timer.
