The blender smelled like burning rubber when I used it. It also blended unevenly, with some parts really finely blended and other giant chunks remaining - maybe user error, but my previous blender never had this issue. Finally, I was disappointed that the bottom blade section is mounted on some kind of plastic rather than fully metal, like many other blenders - I was buying a glass blender to avoid plastic in the blending process as much as possible. Will be returning.
