Great Coffee if it works

I dont understand why Breville cannt fix issues with this machine? I got this one in september 2024, and regret buying it. I make 350ml coffee per day and deep clean it once a week and still have issues. Without giving error message, spring out door would just open in the middle of brew and spill coffee all over, this happens once a week or every other week. carafe is useless as its very hard to pourcoffee from and even harder to clean. So so disappointing!

Breville said they made design improvements to this model... they actually made it WORSE! The chute is horizontal, so guess what happens when ground coffee sits on a horizontal surface and steam from hot water comes into contact with it? That's right - it hardens and plugs up the hole. And the feature that's supposed to expose the hole for cleaning? Doesn't work, so you have to "trick it" into staying open. But of course, you won't have this problem, because never mind just the chute plugging - they made the bean hopper hole SMALLER, so naturally, when the beans agglomerate on occasion there are no beans falling on into the grinder, and you're basically making a hot pot of water. Oh, and by the way, they also didn't do a very good job of isolating the electronics - the display regularly fogs up. And there are other issues with the user operating setup that are annoying as well... I normally don't raise a stink regarding product review (even for bad products), and I know I didn't just get a lemon of a coffee maker - THIS IS THE SECOND ONE OF THIS BRAND AND MODEL I'VE BEEN THROUGH - SAME ISSUES!!! Breville - never again...

I’ve bought 2 of these machines in the last 3 years and they both stopped working after a year and half. The error code for 1 is a large engineering issue. Waste of money, don’t buy this machine. Not possible to keep the grind shoot clean enough to avoid this error code, the machine will eventually stop working.

I have had this coffee maker for a number of years - 5 at least. I recently purchased another Breville product and wanted to provide a review for the Grind Control. This is my go to coffee maker. I like coffee, from pour overs to espresso. I love the Grind Control as my go to automatic option, especially when having a large crowd over. Everyone loves the quality of the coffee. I love the precision of the grind and the ease of cleaning and use. I have had zero issues with it. I also like the ability to switch it to a single cup or to use pre-ground. The carafe keeps coffee hot. The machine is intuitive for required descaling, too. I originally bought this because I was purchasing beans directly from a source outside of the US and it was advantageous to buy them 10 pounds at a time. I have run a lot of beans through this machine and could not be happier. It is pricey, but you get what you pay for and you get a very high quality cup of coffee with little effort. I would buy this again if anything happened to it.

I bought coffee machine with grinder a little bit over a year ago. Must say that I don’t use machine every day, it’s usually about 50% of use. Never thought I’ll be so unhappy with breville brand. Carafe after first time of use was impossible to clean to original condition. No easy to pour coffee from that carafe plus some smell besides coffee I tast every time making coffee. I’m very unhappy with this product. For these money, for light use it’s very disappointing.

Good coffee, but frustrating contruction

I bought this particular machine because I love having a built in grinder - it's the kind of thing I'm willing to shell out extra for. In that regard this coffee machine is a 5/5 - it make a seriously good cup of coffee. However, there are massive issues with how the machine is constructed that cause me routine frustration. For starters, the carafe, while good at insulating the coffee, is constructed with a narrow lip that makes pouring liquid out as well as hand cleaning the interior. Count on this thing getting irreversibly stained on the inside, because there's no way you're going to get in there to scrub it like you'd need to. The second issue is with the grinder, or more accurately the disc between the hopper and the basket. The square open region frequently accumulates grinds, and if you forget to regularly clear these out they will harden and totally block off the opening to the point that you have to peel the solid mass off before the grinder will function again. The grinder USUALLY works as intended if you keep an eye on those things, but sometimes it'll stop feeding beans towards the tail end of a grind, causing you to end up with a weaker pot of coffee than you may have wanted. Sometimes the grinder just clogs up without any apparent blockage and the only way to clear it is to brush, test, and repeat until it starts working again. On one hand, if you're willing to deal with this machine's eccentricities the end product is excellent once you've worked out how to make your desired strength coffee with it. On the other hand, if having a built in grinder isn't a feature you really care about there's much better options on the market at this price point.

I had high expectations for the Breville Grinder and Pot, but unfortunately, it has been a disappointment. After just a couple of months, the grinder has stopped working despite following all cleaning and maintenance instructions after each use. While I typically love this brand, this product is simply not worth the money. It requires too much effort for something that should be reliable and efficient.

I’ve used this product for a couple of years now and have diligently maintained it by cleaning the disc which gums up with coffee bean extract generated from the grinding process and the clearing the grinding shoot. Lately, in spite of thoroughly disassembling and cleaning the grinding burrs and ground coffee shoot and adjusting the grind size and coffee strength the amount of coffee dropped is insufficient to produce a medium or strong coffee drink. I was thinking it may need a new set of burrs and a new filter, but only the upper burr is listed as an available part. Obviously I paid a lot of money for this product, Breville, please help

Great machine horrendous carafe

My wife and I were searching for a good coffee machine with a grinder that also served a single cup in addition to multiple servings. We tried and returned multiple machines some quite expensive. We were happy to find this Breville. It lived up to all expectations and we were very pleased with the machine EXCEPT the carafe has to be the dumbest set up ever. The pour mechanics of the carafe is mind boggling. We’ve had the machine for over a month and I’m convinced we are doing something wrong because there’s no way anyone would have created a machine that requires the carafe to be turned completely upside down just to pour a cup of coffee. There’s no way I could recommend this machine just due to this bonehead mistake. It is a 5 star machine but gets a 2 just for this ridiculous set up. It’s like building the world’s greatest vehicle and forgetting the steering wheel. Whoever developed this needs to move into a field that doesn’t require the pouring of any liquid. A simple change of the carafe is all that’s needed but until then I guess the search continues for us.

I have had constant issues with the water level not reading the first three cup and always stopping at nine even when the float says it's full. Now the it will no longer dispense the water from the basket, it just over flows. There seems to be alot glitches with this coffee maker. I love having grinder integrated and the multiple cup sizes, but its just not worth problems I am having This is headed to trash today.

Disappointing Grinder Performance

My anticipation for the Breville Grind Control was high, given my positive experiences with four other Breville products. However, the Grind Control has been a significant letdown from the beginning, especially considering its sleek design. The grinder is the main issue. It’s inconsistent and fails to work correctly most of the time, ultimately defeating the purpose of an integrated grinder. I’ve followed all the necessary steps to adjust for different coffee beans, grind sizes, and cleaning, but the problem persists. Given the price and my previous experiences with Breville, I had high expectations for the Grind Control. However, the significant drop in performance compared to Breville’s other products has been a source of frustration. I had hoped this would be a long-term addition to my kitchen, but the ongoing issues with the grinder have left me regretting this purchase.

We have had this coffee pot for a year and a half. We absolutely loved the coffee maker for the first 3 most and did clean after every use. The coffee maker then began to shut down and not grind the beans every other day. Now it doesn't even grind as well and coffee is not as good. Expected more from Breville!

This is the worst coffee maker we have ever had. It needs to be cleaned about three times a week or it doesn’t grind enough beans and the coffee is very weak.

We're sorry to hear of your experience. Thank you for your review and your feedback. One can be as diligent as possible about brushing/vacuuming the grinder and grind chute, but depending on the oil content of your beans, oils can remain. Those can cause grinds to clog the chute, or can gum up the burrs or chute disc. We do value customers' input. We'll definitely pass along your feedback to the appropriate people, as we are continuously trying to improve our customer's experience.
Poor design, annoying to operate

I bought this because I wanted a 2-in-1 coffee grinder and drip coffee brewer. It does that well. HOWEVER, the design has several oversights that make operating the machine very annoying. 1) the carafe that comes with the set is designed so that you need to fully invert it in order to pour the coffee, and even still the lip around the top prevents you from emptying out all the liquid (coffee, or water when washing). 2) the machine has a mode to brew directly into a cup or mug, but because it has a valve designed for the carafe, a significant amount of coffee remains in the filter basket unless you press the button on the underside where the carafe would, and risk burning yourself to let out the remaining liquid. 3) the filter basket does continue to drip from the aforementioned valve when it swings open causing a mess on the counter top 4) the grounds are not well contained in the filter basket, leaving you with several separate pieces to disassemble and clean after every use. Overall disappointed, I feel the product achieved its main goal and would be awesome if there was any thought put into the actual user experience. Another brand 2-in-1 would almost have to be better.

Bought this Jan 2022 and it worked great for about two years, but now it won't actually brew the correct cup size. Trying to make a single cup of coffee requires 3-4 attempts before enough water is poured into the mug. Trying to make a carafe of coffee is almost hopeless, it just bubbles and steams for 10min and nothing is actually brewed. Pretty disappointing considering how expensive it is.

I would normally rate a 5 star or 1. I hesitated on the purchase as there were a lot of 1 ratings. As it turns out this was one the best coffee makers I've had. As with most automated grinders. You can not use oily beams. And I would give it a thorough cleaning once a month. My biggest disappointment for the money we paid for it, is it only last 4 years before it stopped working.

I purchased this coffee maker a couple of months ago. It’s not worth the money!! The grinder clogs frequently and is tedious to take apart, clean and troubleshoot. The coffee does not brew fast and I have also had the carafe overflow as the machine does not seem to accurately detect the amount of water in it. Also, it has a very big stature and barely fits on my counter in the corner under a cabinet. It’s very disappointing… I was excited to have a high end product to enjoy and have gone back to a basic coffee maker and grinder as I am tired of fooling with this.
