Breville Handy Mix Scraper 9-Speed Hand Mixer silver: Stainless Steel, Dishwasher-Safe, Break-Resistant, Handheld Mixer

I really like the mixer but had the same issue as many other reviewers - the plastic is coming off of the beaters.

I love the mixer itself; however, the rubber on the beaters is falling off!! The design is ridiculously flawed, and a non-plastic-coated replacement should be offered.

The mixer is generally nice however one of the beaters (the one without the flange) does not lock into place and continually falls out of the beater socket into the mixing bowl. It used to be a periodic occurence but now occurs 100% of the time. We now use it only when essential for preparation.

I was in love with this mixer the moment I started using it. Just a few uses later the silicone of the mixer part are crumbling off and falling into my food. It's my most used attachement but I don't trust this would not happen again if I get a replacement part. Since there isn't an attachment without the silicone this was a waste of money and I am now forced to buy a new hand mixer. Do not recommend.

Been looking for years for a good hand mixer to replace my trusted Farberware. I prefer the traditional blade beaters and not those wirey skinny wisk blades. This hand mixer gets good reviews in consumer reports but what’s up with those rubber coated blades !? What will happen if I beat hot mashed potato’s ?

This is the best hand mixer I’ve ever owned, except for one very big problem that renders it unusable. Like many, many other reviewers report, the silicone coating on the beaters eventually starts falling off in small chunks into your food, causing who knows what kind of food safety issue. This is such a basic failure, and has been known so long, it’s mystifying to me that Breville hasn’t offered a solution. I’d even be happy to buy uncoated replacement beaters, but they don’t seem to make any.

I read the reviews about the pealing beaters, but so far I have had no problem. I have used it a few times and it works great. I love a hand mixer for quick things and because I don't always want to get my big one out.

This mixer is fairly decent. But the case is an absolute atrocity. It constantly falls off and does not fit all the accessories overly well. Poorly designed.

My husband spent a great deal of money to buy me this mixer for Christmas. It has been terrible - the 2nd time I used it to make a chocolate buttercream frosting, I noticed little gray things in the mixture. Turns out they were pieces of rubber that came off the beaters and ruined a big bowl of buttercream. The next time I used it, I only had the “balloon whisk” beaters left to use, and within 30 seconds of creaming soft butter and sugar, one of them literally broke in half at the midpoint! It cannot be fixed. This is a huge failure and seriously upsetting in the middle of baking. These kinds of issues should not be the case with such an expensive small appliance. My old inexpensive mixer lasted for more than 20 years and worked much better. nothing ever broke off or fell off like this one. This one is also a bit heavy and unwieldy.

Love the mixer - I've had it for a few years now. I'm however on my third set of beaters as the rubber keeps coming off. Now I can't even order replacements as they are out of stock so the mixer is useless.... please make some stainless steel beaters without rubber!!

I bought this to replace my Kitchenaid handheld. I really love the mixer but the rubber on the beaters started peeling off right after I purchased it. And I hand wash the beaters. And of course the beaters are sold out every time I try to order them.

One of my wire beaters fell apart as I was creaming butter. The butter was at room temp so never should have occurred. Now I can’t find a replacement part. The mixer was about 7 months old with very little use on it since I have kitchen aid mixer. Prior to this happening I would give it 5 stars love the light and controls

Works so much better than any other we have tried and lost. We have broken several other hand mixers (motor burn out) and decided to go with a high quality product from a brand I trust. So far it has more than delivered, a great purchase.

I’ve had this mixer for many years and love it, but find it frustrating that I have to purchase replacement beaters every few years. Came on to purchase new ones again and they are out of stock. Very disappointing.

I bought this for my daughter who loves making cakes and icings. She was excited to try it out and she was not disappointed. Besides enjoying the features of the silicone beaters and the light her favourite part is that she can pause while mixing and then hit resume, so she doesn't have to re-enter her settings each time. We have a smaller kitchen so buying a stand mixer was not an option, but this mixer has made it so that I wouldn't even want one.

Great mixer, works really well….BUT….the rubber is peeling off the beaters, which means I can’t use the sturdy beaters anymore.

I have a huge stand mixer that is just too big for a lot of mixing jobs, so I chose this hand mixer to handle smaller jobs for me. It handles every job extremely well. This machine is worth every penny!

We needed a new mixer, my wife wanted a cordless one so we tried the new kitchen aid cordless mixer. That thing was a joke. So my next option was a Breville. It wasn’t cordless but we have always had corded mixers so no big deal. My wife used it to make cookies and she loved all of the features. The variable speed dial, built in timer, light, silicone covered paddles made it super quiet. Digital read out was bright and clear. Highly recommend this mixer. So far we have an espresso machine, toaster and now this mixer from Breville. If we need another small appliance in the future, Breville will be our first option.
