Q: had trouble removing the top water tray to clean bottom container. Is this model made differently?
A: Hi there, Gilbert. We're sorry to hear you had trouble removing the reservoir of our Brita Ultramax Dispenser, and we'd like to give you a few tips. Using both hands, pull the reservoir up from the housing evenly on all sides. If you have any difficulty, try placing your dispenser on the counter. As it warms to room temperature, the tank will expand a little then the reservoir will be easier to remove. Another option is filling the dispenser with water, then turning it upside down in your sink. The pressure of the water should cause the reservoir to separate from the housing. Also, there have been no recent changes to the model. We hope this helps. If you have any additional questions, please reach out to our team at 800-242-7482 and reference this number: 201117-000983. I switched from Brita almost 20 months ago because I had bad tasting water immediately from Brita filters. It was strange because I had been using Brita for a long time and then it was like the manufacturer changed something with the filters. I tried buying them in different places and nothing seemed to make a difference. I ended up switching to Pur and have had no issues.

submitted byBrita - 7 years agoBrand expertA: Depending on how much you use the Brita, the filter needs to be changed pretty often, like every month or two. I also noticed it gets slimey in the reservoir and at the bottom of the Brita if it's not cleaned often enough. Hope this helps!

Q: How long does it take for the whole dispenser to fill up?
A: Hi, there! That's a great question. The time it takes for water to pass through the filter will vary according to how the carbon has settled inside filter as well as how the water is poured in. Typically, it should take no longer than 10 minutes for the water to fill the pitcher. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us at 1-800-24-BRITA between 9am-5:30pm EST and we'd be happy to help you.

Q: Will a brita filter work for soft water filtration ?
A: We appreciate you coming to us. As long as your water is municipally treated, you can use our filter for cleaner, better-tasting water. However, water that has gone through a water-softening system can contain sodium that won't be reduced. If you have more questions, call us at 800-242-7482. Have a good day. Q: Why is my spout leaking? I just got this Brita less than a month ago and it has been slowly leaking from the spout, forming a pool of water in my fridge. Everything is tightened, and I had no issues with my last Brita purchased 3 years ago.
A: Oh no, Hannah, thanks for drawing our attention to this. We're sorry to hear that the spigot on our Ultramax Dispenser sprang a leak, after not having it very long. Please call us at 800-242-7482 and refer to this number: 240930-000914. Talk to you soon. Jeffery from The Brita Team

Q: Is the top capacity the same as the tank? That is, will filling the top once be enough to fill the tank? Or will the top need to have water added to it more than once to have a full tank
A: Thanks for asking about this. Our Ultramax Dispenser holds 27 cups total. The tanks hold 18 cups and the reservoir holds 9 cups. You'd have to refill your reservoir twice to fill the tank. We hope this answers your question, and if you have any more, just call us at 800-242-7482 and refer to this number: 240925-000858. Have a hydrated day! Jeffery from The Brita Team
