Q: At least 75% of the Longlast filters I have used this past year get clogged and stop working after just 3-6 days. Flow holes are too small and air bubbles get trapped. Whacking filter is ineffective. What do you suggest to address this?

Q: My Brita pitcher has light to indicate when to replace the filter. Will that light still work properly with the Elite filter that lasts 6 months even though my pitcher came with a regular filter that lasts only 2 months?

  • A: Thanks so much for asking. Yes, you would just reset the timer for the Elite Filter. To begin troubleshooting, take a look at your pitcher to determine where the indicator is located. If the indicator is on the top of your pitcher’s lid: 1. Press and hold down the STATUS button. Hold it there for 2 seconds if you’re using a white filter or 6 seconds if you have a blue filter. 2.     I brought 2 pack replacement filter. I had it 1 months. I ran 3 gallons through it. Then filled up the pitcher. I have floaties and white particles and a few black specs in my gallon that's now cold. I'm thirsty. I threw that filter away used the 2nd one today. Same thing happened. Now I'm wondering if it ever worked or have my family and I been drinking contaminated water for the past 2 months.

    We have have used Brita dispensers for many, many years and were really excited about using less plastic with these new filters. They came in a 2 pack. The first filter lasted for about three weeks. When it became clogged and would not filter water any longer, I replaced it with the other filter. The second filter only lasted for a week. We are thoroughly disappointed after being loyal Brita customers for so long.

    The Elite filter stated that it would work fine for 6 months. I bought the first one after using the standard filter for years. The water tastes bad and it seems unfiltered from th second month. I am very disappointed with the quality and time performance of the filter.

    Advertised as fitting dispensers, and the box it comes in says it fits dispensers, but it does not! The unfiltered water just runs around the filter and into the basin. Total waste of money, I’m really annoyed.

    Let me tell you honestly that this filter is a scam, yall. I use filtered Brita water for my fish tank water changes around every 8 days. I can better control the pH level and mix the filtered water with the tap to get the right level that’s safe for our beloved Betta fish. I always test the pH level of the water right out of the Brita. The pH level of the Brita water after using a brand new “elite” filter was so high that it was unsafe to use for the fish tank! I was shocked so I dumped out the rest of what was in the Brita, refilled it and then retested…same thing! Then, I used one of the original Brita filters in it (keep then stocked up) and refilled the Brita…pH levels were super low (as expected and as I’ve experienced prior) and the water was just overall cleaner. Threw the “elite” filter out and promised myself I’d write a review to tell the world about how the “elite” filter sucks. Stick to the original filter-works much better. Good day!

    Doesn’t fit in the dispenser after several tries. It just floats right back to the top. I’ve never had this issue before and am shower frustrated because Brita isn’t cheap.

In order to get a snug fit, first find the groove in your Brita filter and then the notch in the filter cradle. Line up the groove with the notch and press down.     Used the elite filter that came with pitcher and worked great for 6 months. Then bought the 2 pack and not sure why but 1st stopped letting the water go through after 2 weeks and so I put in 2nd and adjusted it many times and it also stopped but in 1 week- takes 1 fill all day to drip 1 drop every 30 seconds! I’m Larry to try another one. They’re expensive!
