Refill your Brita Refillable Water Filter and drink cleaner**, great tasting tap water with 80% less plastic waste* over 3 years. For use with the refillable filter shell (sold separately), this innovative filter uses activated carbon made from coconut husks to reduce chlorine (taste and odor). Heres how it works: just change the filter refill and keep the reusable filter shell. Certified to reduce Chlorine (taste and odor), Copper, Mercury and Cadmium***, one refillable filter can replace up to 300 16.9 oz single use plastic bottles.

Usage Directions: Hand wash refillable filter shell with dish soap and rinse well. Rinse filter refill with cold water for 30 seconds. Then insert refill into shell and secure lid. Remove pitcher lid and insert filter below line to seal filter. Press firmly to secure. Re-hydrate assembled filter. Fill pitcher three times to hydrate filter and discard water.
Caution Statements: The Brita refillable filter is not intended to purify water. Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system.

Q: Do these refillable filters come with the filter shell or can they be put in my already existing Brita water filter I don't know if the top of the filter comes off?

A: We're glad you asked, Bonnie. While they don't come with our Refillable shell, they do contain the refills. Have owned product periodically We once lived with a well on a farming region and it made a pronounced difference in the overall quality. Today I live in a metropolitan region where the water is treated It is very hard to buy water at an affordable price that tastes as good as my tap water with the Brita system

It took a few minutes for me to learn the new filter process. Now it’s second nature: 2 quick steps more than the old method of replacing the entire filter, and there’s hardly any waste. I love: Three filter “bags” (think giant teabags) are a LOT less expensive than three new Brita filters. Target has the refill bags in stock; so far I haven’t had trouble purchasing them.

However, when I took it out of the package, it already had a hole in it, and the filter material was everywhere. Honestly, the filter was so flimsy. I'd be surprised if you got one that was not torn. I will not be buying this.

I used to live in town using highly chlorinated water and it greatly helps it taste like better water. Using it at my new house that has a well, it helps remove the metallic taste and smell from my water to allow me to drink it without having to purchase bottled water due to the strong metal taste.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Something went wrong with my delivery and I received this kit months after I was originally supposed to. The filter refill is easy to use. You just rinse for 30 seconds in cold water and it’s ready to go. This is great introduction to Brita. This filter made my gross, cloudy tap water taste good and I never thought that could happen.

I've been using this particular one for a few weeks now & the filtration is just as good as the old model in terms of taste. I definitely recommend this filter, let'sall do whatwe can,where we can to cut down on waste.
