We strive to impress you with the cleaning power of Cascade, Tina, so we're sorry this wasn't the case with your recent experience using our Complete Gel Dishwasher Detergent. We're here to help and would like to share that hard water and other factors may sometimes have an effect on cleaning performance. Dishes that are still dirty could be caused by several different reasons. One is that the water pressure may be too low. Run the dishwasher when no other household demands for water are running (showers, laundry, etc). Another could be that the wash cycle may not be long enough, so try a longer/heavy cycle. Lastly, the dishwasher may be overloaded. Make sure items aren't too close together or stacked too tightly. In regard to the scent, we've shared this feedback with our team and apologize again for your disappointment. As well, our Cascade Complete Gel in our Citrus Breeze scent has been thoroughly evaluated to be safe when used as directed. We'd like to mention that we wouldn't expect Cascade to impart any scent or taste onto your dishes. However, if the soap isn't completely rinsed off, or if the dishes have become porous, it's possible. If certain items always pick up a flavor, they're probably worn to the point of being porous and should be washed by hand. It might help to know that cast iron and plastic items can absorb flavors.
