Q: If it's 28 loads per box using how much of the detergent per load?

submitted by KLMN - 2 years ago
  • A: Ziggo is correct! I sold fine china and crystal for many years and we told people NEVER fill the cups up all the way, you only need about half. It's acid and too much leaves white film on everything

submitted bydawn near Atl - 5 months ago
  • A: Great question! You'll know you're getting the best amount of powder by pouring it directly into the dishwasher’s dispenser. Because each machine is different, as are individual water conditions, the number of loads on the box is an approximate average. To best clean your dishes, follow the dishwasher’s instructions regarding the recommended amount of powder. If you can't find them, we suggest filling the dispenser cup. Note, if your dishwasher has 2 dispensing cups, fill both.

  • A: Check your manual-washer manufacturers recommend much less than those trying to get you to use more or their product. Adjust baaed on water hardness. I use only 1 tbls in each cup!

    submitted byLee B - 2 years ago
  • A: You do not need much powder and no way no need to fill the powder slot all the way, it just need about half the fill or 30 grams of powder and a little bit 6g in the pre wash section. If you put too kuch it cause WHITE CHULK RESIDUE FILM to form on your dishes since the machine can not wash away excessive powder and extra powder does not help clean at all

submitted byZiggo - 10 months ago

Q: How many uses are in the box?

submitted by Skeez - 3 years ago
  • A: You just need to add about 30 gran for main wash and 6 grams for prewash, so each box should give you about 60 wash. DO NOT FILL THE POWDER SLOT ALL THE WAY, IT CAUSE A WHITE RESIDUE FROM TOO MUCH DETERGENT TO FORM ON YOUR DISHES.

submitted byZiggo - 10 months ago
  • A: Our Cascade powders have an average of 75 grams per load, Skeez. For a 75oz box it has about 28 loads.

I have been using Cascade powder for years. It is great. I like the flexibility of using the powder to add a little or a lot depending on the need of the load. Having soft water allows me to use less detergent. The powder is the most cost effective option for me and it works great.

So far, Always Clean

I've been using pods for as long as I can remember. I decided to switch it up and go with something more sustainable. This has cleaned everything I've thrown at it so far. Pots, baked on pyrex, sauce covered silverware, coffee stained mugs. I have had no issues with white powder left overs on my dishes or glassware. I always sprinkle a tiny amount on the door for the pre-rinse cycle and follow the dishwasher manual on the amount I should use. The only thing I'm not the biggest fan of is the scent, but it is something I can get used to. (I have a Bosch 300 with slightly hard water for reference.)

Expensive Residue

Lcm - 2 months ago, Verified purchaser
Like everyone else, this left gross white (expensive) residue on all my dishes. I only started using this because they stopped selling the generic target brand dish powder, which worked great. If you need an alternative, the “mart” ‘s generic powder works great.

We're sorry to hear your dishes weren't left spotless like we expect from the many quality checks we have in place. Unfortunately, hard water can be a nuisance. It can fight against the detergent to allow minerals and food particles to settle back on dishes, which results in a film. To get the best results, be sure your water is at least 120 degrees Fahrenheit/49 degrees Celsius. Also, when loading the machine, be sure all items will get the full spray and that your spray arms aren’t blocked. We'd like to get more information to help, as well as share your experience with our Quality team. When you have a minute, please get in touch with us at (800) 765-5516.

Great if you like to re wash dishes

Bought this product 2 weeks ago and I hate it! The store was out of the liquid stuff and bought it because I needed it. Came home did a load of dishes and they came out with a white film. I had to re wash the dishes by hand and the scum/ white film was still on my dishes. Horrible product. I cleaned the dishwasher and tried again but same thing happened. Horrible horrible soap.
1 reply from Customer Care team - 2 months ago
We aim to impress you with the cleaning power of Cascade, Aleja, so we're sorry to learn of your recent experience. Due to all the quality testing our products go through, we wouldn't expect there to be a film left on your dishes after washing. We're here to help and would like to share that, unfortunately, hard water can be a nuisance. It can fight against the detergent to allow minerals and food particles to settle back on dishes, which results in a film. We have some tips that can help the detergent win the battle against the unsightly film: -Use Cascade Rinse Aid. It's released in the rinse cycle to help prevent spots & film on your dishes. -Ensure the water in your dishwasher is at least 120F/49C. It may help to run hot water from your kitchen sink hot for a few moments before starting the dishwasher. -Make sure the dishwasher sprayer arms aren't blocked. They should be able to spin freely. While we hope this is helpful, we'd like to learn more and try to make things right. Please give us a call at (800) 765-5516.

Leaves residue on dirty dishes

Just switched to this product and am taken aback at home much residue is left behind. This residue does not come off with a simple rinse, it needs to be scrubbed with a green scrubbing pad or steel wool! When we switched back to our old brand the dishes looked fine. I'm sorry i bought two of these. Photos attached
1 reply from Customer Care team - 2 months ago
We're sorry to hear that this has been your experience, since our products do go through many quality checks to ensure that you can get the best possible results. To prevent this from happening, we suggest making sure that dispenser cup isn't blocked and that the dishwasher arms are able to move freely. As well, make sure that the water in your machine is hot enough, and that no other major household demands for water are running at the same. We hope this is helpful, and please give us a call at (800) 765-5516 if you'd like any further assistance.

This detergent seems to be more water-dependent than others. I have water-softened water in my dishwasher and this detergent works as well as the gel with no residue or streaking. In harder water it may leave streaking/white residue, so you may need to add citric acid to this as it doesn’t contain as much softener as brands like Seventh Generation or the more expensive cascade products.

Did cascade change the scent of cascade complete? My last two purchases do not have the prior scent of the product. The new scent compares to a fairly strong chemical scent that one would reject.

We'd like to mention that we haven't made any recent changes to this product. Your comments will be shared, and we do recommend giving another Cascade version a try if you'd prefer a different scent. Terrible Scent ! Dishes smell like Laundry !

Never Again 24 - 6 months ago
originally posted on cascadeclean.com
I used to buy Cascade complete for years. The last time I picked up a boss and didn't Read that there's a "fresh scent" added. It actually took me a while to figure out WHY my meals tasted like soap and why my dishwasher and my cabinets smelled like laundry Why on earth would anyone like their dishes smell and TASTE like laundry? Now I am trying to get that smell out of dishwasher and dishes as well as my cabinets.
1 reply from Customer Care team - 4 months ago
We're sorry to hear that this was your experience. We can assure you that our products have gone through many quality checks to ensure that you can use them with ease. We wouldn't expect Cascade to impart the product taste into your dishes. However, if the soap isn't completely rinsed off, or if the dishes have become porous, it's possible. If certain items always pick up a flavor, they're probably worn to the point of being porous and should be washed by hand. It might help to know that cast iron and plastic items can absorb flavors. We'd also like to mention that we haven't made any recent changes to this product. We hope this information is helpful, and your comments will be shared with our team. We suggest checking out our Cascade Free & Clear, as this product features our lightest scent. So that we can learn more and see how we can best assist further, please give us a call at (800) 765-5516 when you have a moment.

I switched to loose powder after a prior dishwasher kept clogging up when we used the pods. No issues since switching to loose powder, except you do have to separately fill the rinse fluid with something like jet dry. Small price to pay for a happier and longer lasting dishwasher.
