ActionPacs™ are formulated to start dissolving as soon as they come in contact with water, it sounds like they may have been exposed to moisture or humid conditions. If two Cascade ActionPacs™ are stuck together, do not try to pull them apart as they may split or tear open. Do not use multiple pacs in one load. We wouldn't expect Cascade to impart the taste of the dishwashing soap into food or drink, and we’re very sorry to learn about your experience. Please know, our Safety Team works very hard to ensure all of our ActionPacs meet our high standards, so what you’ve described isn’t what we expect. If your dishes are retaining the scent of Cascade, it may be a sign that the soap isn't completely getting rinsed off, or if the dishes have become porous. If certain items always pick up a flavor, they're probably worn to the point of being porous and should be washed by hand. Additionally, it might help to know that cast iron and plastic items can absorb flavors. Try removing the smell by soaking your dishes in hot water with some distilled white vinegar added to it. For your safety in the kitchen, it might be best to stop using Cascade Platinum ActionPacs, but give Cascade Free & Clear a try, as it has the lightest scent of all Cascade dishwashing soap.
