This balm removes makeup quickly and gently. Eye makeup is always more difficult to remove, but this balm melts it off without problem. I read some of the other reviews that are referencing a bad smell, but this balm is unscented. I don't notice a smell of any kind. I definitely recommend this product!

Huge CeraVe fan, use many of their products and am very surprised by the smell of this balm. It is so bad, like a hamper full of dirty wet socks or something like that. It make me think something must be wrong with it. Maybe spoiled or something. Really rank.

I used this and loved it at first, although I think it went rancid? The smell when I opened my jar tonight was awful and it burned horribly, especially my eyes. My eyelids are red and puffy and the burn hasn't gone away. It's been approximately at hour. I did wash it off with a clean, wet washcloth and warm water. I could have sworn this was unscented when I bought it, this is my first time experiencing this.

I use either a cleansing oil or balm every night as part of my double cleanse routine. I ran out of my high priced balm and needed something, bought this on a whim. I am pleasantly surprised! Much cheaper than what I normally use but still effective. One tip I’ll give when using balms or oils to cleanse, apply it to dry skin as your first step, massage into skin, then splash some water on and rub again, it starts to emulsify and really do the job. I wipe it off with a dry cleansing cloth and then proceed with a mild, water based cleanser. I may stick with this from now on because of the price point, the only negative is it smells a little funny but not a deal breaker, when you clean it off it doesn’t linger.

As with all CeraVe products, this is Tops. I love it! It does what it says and has great ingredients for your skin. I use the double-cleanse method on my whole face at night when I use makeup. So my only wish is for it come in a larger quantity.

The product did not remove makeup on skin as expected. Eye makeup and lip makeup remained and I had to follow up with a separate face wash to remove residual makeup. I tried multiple times to ensure it wasn’t user error. Super disappointed, would not buy again.

I’ve repurchased this 4 times. Takes all of my makeup off easily. I use this as my first step when washing my face. I was really sensitive eyes and this does not burn one bit and gets off alllll of my mascara. The jar lasts me a good while as you don’t need very much. I follow with a gentle cleanser after this!

I have used a cleansing balm in the past with excellent results, however the price point was much higher. I was hopeful that the results from this product would be similar, that was not the case. I also did not like the scent, was a chemical, shoe-polish like odor I have used several Cerave products that are as described and results as expected,

I will never use this product again! It smells horrible and it caused a serious eye infection that lasted for two weeks!

I previously used the Ponds Cold Cream to remove my makeup, but Cerve does the job better! It's not waxy or greasy. It will remove your makeup in second and not stick around.
