Q: Why would they add a fragrance when fragrances bother so many people?

A: Hi barb, I have super sensitive skin, and rosacea type 2. I cannot handle most products with fragrance, however this eye gel does not cause any irritation on my eye area.

Q: Doesn't Cetaphil know that many people get MIGRAINES from fragrance? Why add it when so many people have such chemical sensitivities?? We look to brands that do not add it. Guess I'll look elsewhere.

My eye lids all of sudden started itching and after a few years dealing with itchy and swollen eye lids I could never figure out what the cause of it was. I’ve tried allergy products, eye drops, cold presses, eye wash wipes etc. Was seen by a Ophthalmologist and was prescribed a cream that didn’t helped but instead worsened the issue. After a couple of months I went to see a dermatologist that prescribed me a similar cream I got from the eye doctor but that contained some hydration. The dermatologist said it was important to have hydration in the cream. The cream didn’t give as much relief as I hoped so I continued not to wear any eye shadow and even stopped wearing mascara. One day after dealing daily with watering eyes, swollen and itchy lids for about 3 years I decided to give Cetaphil eye cream a try and really didn’t expect anything from it but just within a week I’ve noticed a difference and my eye lids were not itchy any longer. This was 2 years ago. I’ve been taking the eye cream ever since and can wear mascara again. I highly recommend this product!

My very sensitive skin makes me always leery of trying out new or different brands. Cetaphil is an asset to my skin care routine. This is one of the few brands I would trust specially right next to the delicate eye area. It is hydrating, lightweight little to know sent, and in an easy to use medium sized tube. I like that I can find this eye gel at most any drugstore and in the familiar Cetaphil package.

I've tried a few fancy eye creams to handle the fine wrinkles starting to appear under my eyes. Even fancy retinol creams didn't help (and seemed to make it worse). Turns out the issue was hydration and this little tube does a great job. A few weeks of putting this on every night before bed, and the lines have smoothed out! No weird smells, nice texture, and a small nozzle so you can squeeze out just a little.

The eye cream comes in a very small container so value may not be great but it runs in well and seems to have brightened my inner eyes a bit which is enough for me. I use this every night and have no regrets buying it.

Similar to many other reviewers, this caused the skin around my eyes to become red, scaly, and puffy. They looked horrible until I discontinued this product and even that took a couple of weeks to heal from. I have never, ever had this reaction to any eye cream before.

I bought this after seeing it high recommended online and I’m very happy with my purchase. The texture is so soothing and feels really nice when applied. I do feel as though it has helped hydrating my under eye area, but I don’t think it has made a difference for my dark circles.

I have had horrible reactions to another hypoallergenic brands of eye cream, so much so that I was beginning to think that maybe my eyes wouldn't be able to handle ANY kind of eye cream. So understandably, I was nervous to try this one. NO REACTION! It is soothing and comfortable to wear, and the skin around/on my eyes feels hydrated. This may be my holy grail!

Lightweight feel upon application and fragrance free. However, this is a basic product. Take note, that eye cream of any kind is not necessary. Whatever you happen to apply to your face as a moisturizer may also be applied to the eye area. Eye creams and gels are simply a gimmick and offer no true benefit. Quite a few of these reviews are entertaining to say the least!

Just goes to show you should always check the label, even if a brand is known to be "safe" for sensitive skin. There's fragrance in this... why? Why do we need fragrance in our eye creams? I thought Cetaphil was better than this. It's hydrating until it burns your eyelids off, I guess. Sensitive skin beware.
