Q: After the kettle boils, what temp does it keep the water at for an hour? I had 2 previous models ..1 cycled the water so it kept it at boiling & the other kept it at about 190 after it boiled.

A: When it has reached boiling, the lights will chage from red to green (the keep warm indication). But as soon as you lift the carafe, the keep warm feature is canceled.
submitted byLatitude42 - 4 months agoA: On average, the kettle will be triggered to reboil the water once it has cooled 15 degrees below the temperature it was set to. For the higher boiling temperatures (ex: 212°F – Black Tea), Keep Warm will activate at 190°F to re-boil the water. For the lower heating temperatures (ex: 175°F – Green Tea), Keep Warm will activate at 160°F and bring the temperature back to 175°F.

A: We're so sorry to hear that you are having trouble turning the infuser of your kettle. Please turn the lid over and note the arrow on the underside of the rim. Turn the infuser counterclockwise towards the arrow and it will slide away from the lid. This may be more difficult when the unit is new, but will become easier with use.

We received our Chefman Rapid Boil Kettle in June of 2024. It has worked great for us until this morning when a wire from the inside heating element decided to melt thru & render it useless. We bought the 2 year extended warranty that Target offered, but figuring out how to redeem it has been a nightmare.

I put only a liter of water in it and it took about the same time as my 8 yrs old Hamilton Beach and after lights go green so not so fast boiling compared to the other brands, it didn’t turn off and kept on boiling. Water started coming out of the cap and steam out of the switch like 18th century locomotive! Burned my hand trying to lift the kettle. Returning this cheap junk asap! Also the finish and quality of the plastics are cheap!

I simply cannot live without this kettle. My first one lasted forever until I dropped the pot and it shattered. It is my go to for everything from tea to quick prep for pasta and other meals that require boiling water. I simply transfer to the pot on the stove to save time!

I bought this to heat up water. It says it's glass and stainless steel but it has a plastic ring on the inside top part of the kettle that the hot water has to go through whenever you pour the water out. Also the lid is plastic. I was trying to avoid getting plastic in my hot water and this will!

This electric kettle was great while it lasted. I got 6 months out of. It suddenly stopped working. Do not purchase if looking for longevity. I haven’t had problems with the Chefman brand in the past but it is not a good value and I am not saving money if I have to replace the electric kettle every 4 to 6 months.

This was a great electric kettle, but it suddenly quit working about 5 months after I bought it. I loved the lights and the fact that it was made of glass. It was also a great price, but I don't like to throw things away after so little use. I would not recommend.

Opened the new one for the first time to boil, but a clear plastic power switch at the bottom kept popping up after pressed. Kept trying several times in vain. It's a defective one, so returned to the store. Got the different model in same brand at more expensive price.
