Q: After the kettle boils, what temp does it keep the water at for an hour? I had 2 previous models ..1 cycled the water so it kept it at boiling & the other kept it at about 190 after it boiled.

A: When it has reached boiling, the lights will chage from red to green (the keep warm indication). But as soon as you lift the carafe, the keep warm feature is canceled.
submitted byLatitude42 - 2 months agoA: On average, the kettle will be triggered to reboil the water once it has cooled 15 degrees below the temperature it was set to. For the higher boiling temperatures (ex: 212°F – Black Tea), Keep Warm will activate at 190°F to re-boil the water. For the lower heating temperatures (ex: 175°F – Green Tea), Keep Warm will activate at 160°F and bring the temperature back to 175°F.

A: We're so sorry to hear that you are having trouble turning the infuser of your kettle. Please turn the lid over and note the arrow on the underside of the rim. Turn the infuser counterclockwise towards the arrow and it will slide away from the lid. This may be more difficult when the unit is new, but will become easier with use.

I bought this to heat up water. It says it's glass and stainless steel but it has a plastic ring on the inside top part of the kettle that the hot water has to go through whenever you pour the water out. Also the lid is plastic. I was trying to avoid getting plastic in my hot water and this will!

This electric kettle was great while it lasted. I got 6 months out of. It suddenly stopped working. Do not purchase if looking for longevity. I haven’t had problems with the Chefman brand in the past but it is not a good value and I am not saving money if I have to replace the electric kettle every 4 to 6 months.

This was a great electric kettle, but it suddenly quit working about 5 months after I bought it. I loved the lights and the fact that it was made of glass. It was also a great price, but I don't like to throw things away after so little use. I would not recommend.

Opened the new one for the first time to boil, but a clear plastic power switch at the bottom kept popping up after pressed. Kept trying several times in vain. It's a defective one, so returned to the store. Got the different model in same brand at more expensive price.

Even though the package makes the item look identical to brand name the inside of this item is made of very cheap looking poorly finished black plastic and has a plastic filter not meant to be removed. Returned immediately.

I bought this for use at work, due to the larger capacity, to reduce walks to the kitchenette to refill the water. I could do without the built-in tea infusuer, but not a big deal. Please don't be put off by the description of the keep warm feature, I find that it works exactly to my liking. It turns off, and remains off, the moment you pick up the vessel. It's just there to help if you are steeping tea in there, or if you are delayed a few minutes getting your hot water.

Worked for two months and then the heating coil exploded. Popped the breaker and everything. Also the mesh screen near the spout gets moldy so fast and is hard to clean.

Love this kettle. People with issues with it probably did not read the manual. It's super important to keep the handle part dry. I have this kettle up high and you can still see the leds so you know if it's working or keeping warm or whatnot.
