    Bring Back the Old Chex

    2 out of 5 stars

I miss the old Chex cereals. The squares were a decent size for CheX Mix. Now the cereal is just a bunch of tiny crumbles. Wheat Chex, especially, is unpleasant to eat due to its nasty texture. I really miss the old Rice Chex, too. It was a great GF cereal to eat with fruit. Now it's just misshapen little knobs.

I'm over 70 & can't tell you how many years (decades) I have been eating Wheat Chex. I remember the 1st time. The crunch, subtle sweetness, & wonderful taste. While the other Chex are good, too, the Wheat Chex is a stand alone in overall quality. I toss fresh blueberries in it sometimes but plain is no cry baby. SNACKTIME! Coat a saucepan with some spray oil, set heat to medium, add a few handfuls of Wheat Chex, cover pan & shake it to get them coated a bit. Sprinkle them with cinnamon, maple, or brown sugar. Cover the pan, give it a few shakes to coat the Chex, remove from heat, & let cool. Makes a nice snack, doesn't take more than 10 min to make, & cools in a short time.

    Sadly-Wheat Chex quality declining!

I’m a lifetime WHEAT CHEX LOVER-but my adoration is fading fast! Over the last two years the quality of the weak tax has significantly declined. The shape, texture, color and thickness of the cereal squares are not as in the past.. Most Chex are partial pieces-many flat, with no puff or basketweave like appearance. It’s less crunchy because of changes. Also I see white spots-flour? Chex mix is a family favorite-however I didn’t even gift it this year-because when baked it is unappetizing as it shrivels up it little particles..I see I am one of many with complaint-hoping Wheat Chex return to their former glory days—SOON!

Insanw amount of sodium for cereal

    KLou - 4 months ago
If you have this with milk, you’re looking at 20% of the RDA of sodium just for a bowl of cereal. It even tastes too salty. Why would anyone want salty cereal??

    White Spots on Wheat Chex

Opened a box of Wheat Chex today to make the yearly Chex Mix and found a white powder on the outside of the cereal pieces. Looks like baking soda embedded in the outside of the grains of the cereal. Very disappointed as it's too late to go out and purchase more cereal. Lot of money wasted to make the mix to not know what is in the cereal to be confident to go ahead and eat it. Use by date is October 20 2025 CI 231515 B.

I bought 2 boxes of Wheat Chex for our traditional Christmas mix I have made for over 20 years, but both boxes purchased at different stores with December ‘2025’ Best if Used By Dates (next year!) are both filled with white spots. I assume this is mold and will not use. Please advise if recall or can reimburse for product and my time for dealing with this issue that seems to be for everyone. I’m trying to upload pictures, but can’t on this site. My pictures are extract same as others.

100% DV Of Iron Is Bad For Older Men

My oncologist told me my ferritin levels were highly elevated. He asked if I ate steak, green/leafy vegetables, and / or breakfast cereals. I said yes to all of them. Doctor said this is probably why my iron levels are so high. I didn't know Wheat Chex would give me 100% DV of iron. Needless to say, I had to cut Wheat Chex out of my diet. I liked the taste and texture of Wheat Chex. Perhaps this product is good for children and women, but older men should talk to their doctors about including Wheat Chex in their diet. So... Yes, eating lean red meats, raw fish, green/leafy vegetables, and breakfast cereals can kill you!! ;-)

When I opened the box this morning there were white specs of mold all over the Wheat Chex, I’ve never had a problem before with these and I’m very disappointed that I now can’t eat them and they need to be thrown away, waste of money and no quality control..
