A: We have tested this rug pad on all Mohawk flooring types and have not had any adverse reactions to date. If your flooring is from another manufacturer, we recommend checking with them if there are any specific things they advise against.

Q: Why does it smell so strong!!! The smell is almost over powering? Is there a lot of chemicals in it?

A: Thanks for sharing the feedback on our rug pad products. Our non-skid rug pads do have a distinct smell from the manufacturing process and material content. That smell can then be exacerbated by the packaging for storing and shipping. Any smell from the manufacturing process and packaging should dissipate over a few days of being out of the packaging. A: Thank you for your interest in the Comfort Grip Plush Rug Pad Ivory. Our rug pad does not contain phthalates and is made of the same material as the shelf liners used in kitchens, which is considered safe for humans and pets.

A: We always recommend the use of a rug pad with our products. Rug pads are a great way to protect your floors from scratching or color transfer. They provide extra slip resistant protection and cushioning underfoot, and also extend the life of your rug by preventing pile crush and traffic wear patterns. Rug pads should be smaller than your area rug size by at least 1-2 inches on each side. This allows the rug to lay flat on the ground preventing a tripping hazard. Most area rug pads can be trimmed down to size using scissors.

Provides good padding under rug and prevents rug from slipping, but the chemical off-gassing is very high initially and gave us all headaches until we moved them to the garage temporarily. Would suggest opening them in a garage or other unused area to off-gas prior to installing in your home.

Need a rug pad for a 3 x 8 foot runner. This was the only option in store, besides grip tape (which wasn't effective.) While it states the 'actual size" on the wrapper this was grabbed quickly and not noticed. Diasspointed that it is only 20 inches wide. It has an overpowering chemical smell. While it is thick and cushy, it makes a Nuloom thin runner feel uneven under foot. Would not purchase this again it's overpriced for the size.

If I could give this 0 stars I would - it isn’t long enough! If something is meant for a 2x8 rug it should be long enough to hold the entire thing in place but this is nearly a foot too short! If I step on a spot where the pad doesn’t reach the entire rug moves and I nearly fall. Guess I’ll cut it up and put it under smaller rugs I have.
