A: Hi Holly! We hear you - when you're ready to dispose of them, here's what we recommend: With a Compost Pile: If you have a compost pile, feel free to toss your used snack bag right in! We suggest tearing off the zip first to help it break down more quickly. You can also rip the bag up a little—much like you would with cardboard—but that's entirely optional. Without a Compost Pile: No compost pile? No problem at all! Our snack bags are fully compostable by design and meet industry standards for compostability. While composting is the best option for breaking down the material naturally, if you don’t have access to a compost pile, you can simply dispose of the snack bag with your ordinary trash. We appreciate your commitment to sustainability and are here to help if you have any more questions!

Was worried about the durability of these - I shouldn't have been. They zip up perfectly, and hold just the right amount of snack items. I have hand washed them and reused them several times. Have not yet home composted one, so I can't vouch for that yet. Looking forward to trying, though!

I'm really pleased with these Compostic Compostable Snack Bags. The bags are thick and durable so they will work well for reusing. The zip-close top closes securely and I haven't had to worry about leaks. They are designed to be compostable and break down quickly, which is great for the environment. The only drawback is that they are not see through, but they do have an area to write on that works well. Overall, a really nice quality product that I use often.

I've always been conscientious about my use of plastic bags...ziploc ones, grocery store ones...you name it. But, plastic bags are a reality of life. I'm always careful of my use of them...nothing crazy, like washing and reusing them...but being selective what I use them for. Now, these compostable bags come along. Game-changer. Unlike other compostable bags, these ones WORK and are reliable. They aren't cheap or come loose or even tear during normal use. I've been reusing them for giving out coffee samples with a group of my friends who exchange coffee beans. They work great for that. I've also been using them for small car snacks and that's great too, because usually they stay in my car too long and can't be reused...so then I toss them right into my backyard compost bin. Viola! These will replace my ziploc bags over time, to be sure.

These bags were better than we expected! They are made out of material that feels like plastic but you have the peace of mind that you are being less harmful to the environment. It also keeps snacks air tight and does not allow leaks which is vital for lunch bags. We definitely will use these again!

Decent snack bags only downfall is that it is not see through but it does have an area for you to write down the content. Nice that it is compositable but unsure how well it breaks down. So far no leaks.

I am really impressed with these. I was expecting them to be thin and flimsy but they are not at all. They have a zipper seal that works great. The bags have a nice surface to write on. They are thick enough to reuse. So one box is going to last quite a while.The best part is you can compoost them at home. We have just this year started our own cimpost bin so I am pretty excited to see how long these take.

These are great little bags. I love that they are compostable because my kids throw everything in the garbage anyway! I hope they’ll be sold in larger sizes because my family uses the snack size the least. These are a great alternative to plastic storage bags or containers.

These snack ziplock bags are super tiny, but work great for all the small sized snacks such as cookies or chips that I pack for my daughter’s lunches. The fact that they are compostable is amazing too!

Utterly amazing I love these snack bag. I love how they can break down you can reuse them. I love that you have a space to write the date, the contents of the bag, it's so cute! It says use me, reuse me, home compost me, I'll break down quicker than an orange peel and I bet it is so cute. This is the perfect snack size too for my kids lunch items that will make me feel better about not using the plastic bags I typically use. I tried those silicone bags and I really did not like them because of the constant washing and then having to wait for them to dry it just wasn't the most efficient for us especially in a very busy household so these have solved the trick for me and make me feel 10 x times better about my imprint on this world Thank you compostic and Target for carrying them!!!

Perfect size for snacks. I also use it for knick knacks when we travel. It is sturdy and can be washed and reused. The lock is easy to open and closes well. There is also a spot for where you write the date and contents. I love that it is compostable. It works really well! For comparison, I’ve attached a picture of it on top of a quart-sized bag.

These are nice quality and a good size for snacks for the kids’ lunchboxes. They hold up well to crunchy and pokey snacks. You can reuse them and they have a spot for writing on the outside of them. I would buy them again.

This is an eco-alternative to a resealable plastic bag. I bought these for my son's snacks but have used them for storing all kinds of things as they are the perfect size. They're also reusable, strong, and completely compostable. I have a totally clear conscious using them as great for the planet, I just wish I had found them earlier!

These bags work! The zipper works smoothly (not like other brands where you have to basically tear the bag to get it open or closed) and they're durable enough that I can reuse them. Love that they work in home compost too. I feel so much better using these bags over plastic - better for my family and for the earth!
