A: No. It is a bad idea to put plastic in the microwave. At worst it will melt. At best it will simply release chemicals you don’t want to ingest into your food.

I’m very disappointed in target. I’ve been buying these bags for years as needed and try to limit my plastic consumption as much as possible. Suddenly the package of these changed for the worse. It is 1) not as attractive (which isn’t important), 2) now coated in shiny plastic so 3) NOT recyclable anymore!?!!! What?! The old package had recycling info for both the package and the bags and now no information for either package. I assume the shiny plastic is indeed not recyclable. I’m very disappointed in target for making this change and it makes me question if they are doing this in other products that I’m not yet aware. I will no longer be buying this product at target but will also be conscious of what else target is trying to pull past us as consumers. I hate using the plastic bags but try to be as earth conscious about my consumer choices.
