Not good. Drawn out.

Not award reading material but definitely very interesting

This book has romance scenes in almost every chapter, but it lacks character depth. I would have like more background on each character. We also get a very small glimpse of the world and some of the major problems seemed to be too easily fixed that you wonder how it was even a big problem.

I somehow always feel like I should go to confession after finishing a Katee Robert romance and this one made it doubly so, which is the reason why I'm singing its praises near and far. It is beyond steamy, giving a whole new definition to smexy (smutty and sexy), while also having a lot of heart and a pretty solid plot to tie the sexy bits together and make you really care about what happens to the characters. My only complaint is that the end seems a bit rushed and some of the meetings I was most looking forward to only get a slight mention in passing in the epilogue, so consider this my plea for more time with these characters and a whole series of novellas featuring their time after the big win at the end. Very happy thanks to Sourcebooks Early Reads program for the review copy!
