Grabbed this for a quick dinner tonight. Cooked it with some veggies and chicken on a skillet. It was very gelatinous coming out of the jar and the flavor wasn’t great, very salty. I added some milk and water to the mix along with lots of garlic and other spices. I also added a dash of bbq sauce. All in all it was about a 7/10 probably won’t get it again.

The G&G jarred sauces are usually pretty good and we enjoy Cajun flavored dishes which can be time consuming to make from scratch. So thought this would be an easy weeknight meal. Followed the instructions and added all the water but the smell and flavor is reminiscent of jarred gravy. Yuck. I added my Penzeys Cajun blend and lemon to try to help but it still wasn't very good. Will not purchase this again.

I was looking for something quick and easy as I had limited time. I was looking for Campbells skillet sauces. Seemingly no longer sold. I decided to try this. That was a terrible choice on my part and would recommend avoiding making the same mistake.

Don’t pay the negative reviews any mind . Those people don’t know anything about cooking or taste . If you had a jar or water to the pot with it then it turns out just fine and yummy .

As a literal Cajun, this stuff is great and when instructions are properly followed, the flavor is soo spot on. I recommend using some lemon pepper, paprika, garlic and slap ya mama seasoning to the chicken when cooking. Also, if it’s too gel like, you need to add more water. The sauce is like a concentrate. It’s really good with bell pepper, would be better if I added some green onion. Seriously though, I would be mad if target ever stopped selling this. It’s perfect for an easy cooking night.
Salty & gelatin texture.

Incredibly salty, does not taste like Cajun at all. Has more of a gelatinous texture than a sauce or gravy. Would not recommend.

You cannot use this jar alone. It is salty and has a weird taste. And I love salt. I wish I would have tasted it prior to dumping it over my chicken. I would have tossed it. I had to doctor it up dramatically. Will never buy again.

For all those complaining that it was gelatinous or too salty — did you bother reading the directions? You need to mix the entire jar with 1 1/4 jar of water! Loved it with shrimp and rice, so good will def buy again!

This is SO absolutely disgusting tasting I put both jars down the drain immediately. My husband spit it out when I made him try it and said “ewww gross!” This is not edible! It’s a jar of salty, sour, gelatinous, highly processed and flavorless slop! Please pull this off the shelves, Target!

Me and the hubby really loved this! Passing by looking at sauces this one caught my attention will add photos for reference. Since we liked this flavor we will try the others. I did sauté the onions in the pan with a little oil but cooked the chicken in the air fried then simmered for 30 minutes.

Gelatinous salty goo. The only flavoring is that of heavily salted chicken and a bit of cayenne. The photo on the product bottle shows a creamed sauce with this is not.

Inedible. I had to wash it off of my pasta chicken and vegetables just so I didn't have to throw it all away. Way to salty and acidic and lacks any kind of flavor. Tastes and feels like some sort of lard. My tastebuds couldn't differentiate between this abomination and actual vomit. No exaggerations at all. Speaking as someone who is from the south, don't waste your time or money!!
Should be rated 5 stars!

This sauce was incredible! I decided to make it a jambalaya for dinner. I sautéed onions, garlic, and green bell peppers. Then added kielbasa and chicken, cooked until browned. Added a can of diced tomatoes and then added the sauce + 1 jar of water. Simmered everything together until it had reduced and the sauce was thickened. Served over rice with sour cream. Absolutely delicious. My 3 boys (aged 8,5&2) all loved it and wanted seconds! Highly recommend!

Sooo good. The seasoning is perfect. People who gave one star definitely aren’t used to well seasoned food
