I ordered for drive up and received the oldest looking jar with no expiration date, so I requested a replacement by mail. That jar was almost 2 months past its best by date. Not bothering with this product

I've had Birria from food trucks and Mexican places and this sauce is just as good. I made the whole jar with 1 lb chuck roast. I then shredded the meat with a couple big spoonfuls of sauce and then added to tacos. You gotta dip the tortilla, throw in the pan with some real Mexican white cheese, then the meat, flip over half and smush real good, fry until crispy. Finish with raw onion and cilantro and a big ol bowl of that sauce. It was delicious 10/10.

Some of these reviews didn’t lie. I added this sauce, some beef, chopped onion, garlic, cilantro, bay leaf, salt, cumin and 12oz beef broth to the pressure cooker! What resulted were some very good birria tacos. I’ll keep a jar of this on hand for a quick meal. Beware it’s probably too spicy for littles even after add-ins.

It’s ok. It’s too thick, but for $4 what can one expect? I had to add my own seasonings to it to make it taste decent.

I slow-cooked chicken breast with a jar of this sauce. Shredded the chicken and added it to cheese quesadillas. Used the juices from the slow cooker to make a dipping sauce. Some of the best birria quesadillas I’ve had! Whole family (4 kids) loved them!

Excellent sauce to help you make the best birria tacos. I browned cubed stew meat in the instant pot. Added the sauce and half container of beef broth. Added small onion cut in four for flavor also garlic and a bay leaf. Cooked for 20 mins. Meat was perfect. Serve with hot tortillas. Top with cilantro, thinly sliced onions marinated in lemon juice with a little salt and Herdez brand guacamole green salsa. ❤️

I just cooked with this sauce and I’m actually surprised to find out that is very tasty. To make enough “consomé” I added an additional cup and half of beef broth. It has a spicy kick to it but it’s not that bad, I don’t like things too spicy and I found this sauce to have the right amount of spice.

I get baited into a lot of exotic good and gather products that often disappoint me but this one did not. Just threw it in a slow cooker with a roast and 8 hours later fried up some peppers and onion and had a burrito bowl that rivaled chipotle. Flavor is similar but I'd call this somewhat spicier and sweeter

Delicious low-effort birria

Alonaria - 7 months ago, Verified purchaser
Super yummy for easy peasy birria. I added the sauce, a cup of beef broth, and 2lbs stew meat to the crock pot before cooking for four hours on high. I didn't start it until relatively late, otherwise I would've cooked it for a good bit longer on low - that would have been delicious! After the cook time was done, I dipped warmed tortillas into the stew, topped with the meat plus onions and cilantro, then fried on both sides in a skillet with extra stew on the side to dip. Everything was super flavorful. It has a bit of heat to it, but I'm surprised by how many people mentioned it being too spicy. In general, if you consider yourself to be someone who likes spicy food, you will likely be fine. Price feels reasonable for the amount of time saved vs. making birria from scratch.
