Summary of reviews
This crock pot is appreciated for its cool-to-touch exterior and secure locking lid, making it ideal for safe transport. Guests find it easy to use with programmable settings, and it cooks food evenly. However, many have noted that it tends to cook at higher temperatures than expected, even on low or warm settings, which can lead to overcooked meals. Despite this, its durability and design are praised.

I have had this since 2019 and last night it cracked in half! I've never seen this happen. I'm so sad because I was in love with it. I was even using it on the warm setting last night too. Didn't even get to high or low so why does it look burnt?

Even when set on warm, this thing is hot. On the warm setting, my cooked food is burnt black in less than 2 hours. Even the plastic liner that I always use with other slow cookers was melted. I can’t even imagine how hot this things gets on the low or high setting. This thing is unusable. What a waste of money.

I have been trying to use this slow cooker for past one month now and every time, the cooker wont allow me to set to slow mode. The Select button would just toggle between High and Warm mode. Not sure if this is some faulty product or I am just doing something wrong (which I highly suspect as there is only one select button)

I purchased this on 11/2019. I have made several different dishes and I am disappointed at the way the product cooks. Warm cooks like it is on high. Low cooks like it is on med-high, and I do not use the high setting. I bought this to start a dinner in the morning, leave it and have the food ready to to eat hours later. I am not able to with this product, it cooks way to fast. So, now I have a product that takes up space and it not used anymore.

It burns everything you put in it. High boils food, fine Low also boils food. There is -no way- you can use this for a day long slow cook. That's how my Christmas went, logs of dry and boiled solid pork and pineapple taffy.

Cooks Too Hot!

There seems to be no difference in temperature from high to low to warm. Cooks a roast in 4 hours. If cooking on low then switching to warm the temperature stays the same. Stays at a hard simmer. No good.
1 reply from Consumer Care Team team - 6 years ago
Thank you so much for your review. On your slow cooker, both high and low stabilize at the same temperature (209°F); it is just a matter of how long it takes to reach the simmer point. On high, it takes approximately 3-4 hours, whereas on low, it takes approximately 7-8 hours to reach the simmer point. Once food reaches the simmer point, total cook time is dependent on cut and weight of meat to reach the point of maximum flavor and texture potential. Most dishes can be prepared on either high or low. This is uniform across all of our current models. On the warm setting, your slow cooker will be between 165-175°F. Please remember that these are all approximate temperatures and they can vary depending on what you are cooking. The unit can also boil on high and low. We do recommend that you always fill your slow cooker 1/2 - 3/4 of the way full, including at least one cup of liquid or sauce. You may have to adjust your cook times accordingly, especially if you are using older slow cooker recipes, or adapting regular recipes for slow cooker use. This will prevent the food from drying out and burning.

I purchased the Crock-Pot® 6.0-Quart ThermoShield™ Cook and Carry™ Slow Cooker, Programmable in April of 2018. Pros: Cooks a tender roast. Keeps food warm. Has a spill proof lid. Outside is not hot, it is warm. Cons: Temperatures get to hot and cooks food within four hours even on low. The food will still high simmer on the warm setting. Was told it needed to cool down first before putting on warm. It is heavy to carry especially with food in it. Expensive. Have gone back to my regular crock pots to use when I am at work as I need a 6 to 8 hour timing before I get home from work.

Replaced a Crock-Pot that was given us 58 years ago for a wedding present. From the looks of the new one it will last 58 years too. It's heavy duty, does an excellent job of cooking and cleans up nicely. The pot is big -- had to find a new place for it -- but the outer shell stays cool throughout the cook cycle.

I thought I was buying a slow cooker but it seems to cook things rather quickly and I don’t know if maybe the temperature needs to always be a warm to slow cook. Afraid to leave home with it on because i have used it 3 times with it pretty full and have over cooked the meals. Great if you don’t have a stove and need to cook. I’d appreciate any info on how to use it as a slow cooker- it is nice and large. Thanks

I bought this model on month ago after much debate over the other ‘cook and carry’ models.. I loved that this model has a thermal shield as I constantly burn myself in the kitchen and it really does keep the exterior cooler to the touch. This crock pot cooks beautifully and it looks great too.. we’ve made a couple of different soups in it and the programmable buttons are very simple and easy to set. So far I’m very happy with this purchase!!
