DAP Dynaflex 230 Clay Premium Latex Door/Siding/ Window Sealant 10.1 oz

Bad product. It smeared and dissolved after a rain storm

I've been using this brand for a few years now. When I converted a small barn to a shop the ceiling was covered in galvanized roof metal. The Dap #230 I purchased at the lumber yard was used to fill the gaps along where the wall an ceiling meet. It sealed and adheres to the different material very good. What I also like is that you dont have to plug the tip after opening the tube to keep the caulk from solidifying and wasting a tube if you dont use it up right away. I forgot to do that and a few days later I came back and used the tube with no problem after forgetting to tape the tube tip. This brand and specific product is now my go to product for any caulking needs.

This product is exceptionally easy to place and shape quickly and evenly. It dries without unexpected shrinkage or sagging; it has replaced most situations where I would have used pure silicone previously. It's excellent for sealing countertops to walls, and similar intersections with a variety of different materials, including masonry and metal. Superb workability in borderline temperatures.

Since discovering this product we have switched almost exclusively to Dynaflex 230. As professional cabinetmakers we use dozens of tubes in a year to finish our work to walls and floors. The product is easy to use, easy to clean, will still work a month or so after opening it (must be unclogged) and most of all, is superior to the Alex product (also by DAP) since it resists mould when left unpainted - the Alex turns grey after a year or so. We also use it as an adhesive in some instances.

I HAVE A 24X36 METAL BUILDING, USED 230 BETWEEN THE CONCRETE AND THE BUILDING, TOOK 6 TUBES, 2 WEEKS LATER WE HAD A RAIN, 230 WASHED AWAY, WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO ANYONE

I originally bought the 5.5 oz size that looks like a toothpaste tube to seal the trim around my garage that had the builder installed caulking torn up by the TX weather, especially where trim meets the cement floor. 8 years later, still looks good. So when I started a bigger reseal job recently, bought the tube that goes in caulking gun. Flows well, easy to apply where needed. Tip: I still had the original 5.5oz tube. The plastic cap off that fits the bigger tube perfectly! I had stopped mid job for a couple of days, capped off the tube, product was perfect when I got back to sealing later. Just don't cut off too much of the tip so cap has something to grab onto.

Aluminum Gray color is great, but newer Gray is lighter (and has dropped the Aluminum in the name). Is the darker Gray available? Model 18286 for DAP DYNAFLEX 230 for Windows/Doors.

Use a spatula or just a wet finger. The 230 clear is very easy to use and much lighter than other acrylic sealers. It takes a while to cure but its worth the wait. After 3 years the sealant around my front door (outside) is still crystal clear. Fills joints up 10mm easily, but for thicker joints its best to build up layers then apply a smooth final coat.

I spent a couple of hours sealing an old semi-trailer, it was a warm clear day. The 230 caulk went on very smooth and easy to handle. After a couple of tubes I was getting pretty good at applying it. I finished up and walked inside and was informed that a strong thunderstorm with heavy rain and high winds,has popped up to our west. When it hit we had 1 inch of rain in 45 minutes accompanied with 60 mph wind! Afterwards I went out to look and the caulk looked like whipped cream from a can!!!!! Not too happy with mother nature but, the caulk I had used a couple days earlier held up great! Moral of the story-- don't trust the weather in Minnesota!!

This product was used on a window installation job. Call backs are not good for any contractor, especially when the product doesn't have a life span greater than a year.

My only complaint really is that the white starts to Yellow turning yellow in as little as six months after application. Meaning the product definitely has to be painted in order to achieve desired appearance from unsightly pigment discoloring.

I use Dynaflex 230 on all exterior applications because it's waterproof, flexible, easy to work with and cleans up easily. Some people complain about it being messy just remember to cut the tip accordingly to the size of the gap you need to fill.

Built a pump-house for my well system using left over 5" wide fence planks as sides & roof...looks like a mini out-house! Used Dynaflex 230 to seal over, under and between the planks, as well as, beneath the drip edge. I had originally bought a tube for a specific project a couple years ago (which never happened) so I began with that tube. By the time that tube was finished, I felt I had finally found the perfect caulk (IMO), so, bought two more tubes...one to finish the pump-house, one to have on hand for whatever the next project happens to be. (I've yet to apply paint or sealer, but given the time which will pass before (and if) I actually do, I'm confident the caulk will be amply cured and have no issue accepting paint.)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Dynaflex 230 sealant is very easy to use. I used it to reseal several windows in my house and some cabinet trim in a concession trailer. It was easy to control the bead with constant pressure from the caulk gun, and the sealant was smooth. The excess cleaned up very easily with a damp cloth, but you have to do it before it starts to harden or else it is quite difficult. It starts to harden in just a few minutes, so it is best to have the cloth on hand for quick use. I used an old credit card to smooth the sealant down after application and it looked great! Just be sure to get it wet first to keep it from sticking. The new sealant has shown no signs of stress even with our wild temperature swings. I haven't seen any moisture or leakage around it either. I'm very happy with this sealant and will use it again for future projects.

It was very easy to apply the DAP Dynaflex 230 Premium Elastomeric Interior/Exterior Sealant, easy clean up too. I was not sure how it would hold up against the rain that sometimes leaks through the bottom of the door, but after 2 hurricanes & several weeks of rain, I can say that no water has leaked into my garage. I plan to use some on my doors that have air drafts but the weather has not been favorable to do that yet, but I think from what I have seen so far, that this will do the job & look good too! DAP Dynaflex 230 Premium Elastomeric Interior/Exterior Sealant is a great sealant. My home is not that old, but I am sure I will find other places to use the DAP Dynaflex 230 Premium Elastomeric Interior/Exterior Sealant.

We've noticed a lot less cool air coming from around the windows while sitting beside them. It was super easy to apply and distribute, not much mess at all. Can't wait to see how it holds up through the winter!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently replaced all of the windows in our house because the originals were almost 30 year old and leaking energy terribly. The new ones are great but the installers did a bad job of caulking so when I got this sealant I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. We were able to finish the seal job on three windows with this tube plus a few minor touch ups to a tub. I waited a few days for it to dry and cure and then painted it. I can say without a doubt this Product was very easy to apply and smooth out, it adhered to the window frames and the stucco, and once it dried I had no problem with painting it. I reinspected all the areas several days later and the product is in perfect condition with no paint issues. I am going to go get two more tubes to finish the other windows. This product lives up to its claims and I am recommending it to all of my friends.

It makes it so much better to apply. The color is super white and very pretty. It seals great. Easy to clean. No smell. Makes everything look clean and neat.
