I run a property management maintenance shop with well over 300 units. I am reviewing this in a professional environment. I ordered this by accident about 10 years ago. Initially, we didn't understand what this does, and when to use it. The crew didn't like it because it has some sort of glue or admix in it. It's kind of a mix between spackle and caulking. It's a bit weird to trowel, but you just need to wipe it and leave it alone. You can paint with latex paint immediately., with no primer needed. It does not leave a "holiday." Think of how that will change the prep time on small jobs! This product EXCELS at exterior wood trim. It will never crack. It dries to a strong, flexible semi-solid. It not brittle, so it flexes when the wood expands and contracrts. It is sandable after at least 24 hours. All of the bad reviews about this being sticky, or not sandable are because they didn't wait. You have to wait. It's worth the learning curve. I can verify this with 10 years of experience. I see these buildings every day. Still no cracks.

OMG. There is no way to try and touch up any applications. 2 days and still can't sand or wipe unless I just keep making more applications. Comes off like it's still wet. Will not ever use again.

Thank you for posting your feedback. We're sorry to see your low star review on DAP Fast 'N Final Lightweight Spackling. Fast 'N Final is designed and marketed for minor cosmetic/surface repairs, such as dents/dings in wallboard, not large format repairs. Fast 'N Final is specifically formulated as a low moisture/low density spackling compound for faster dry time/paint time. Fast 'N Final does not dry with the same hardness as traditional heavyweight spackling compounds. As this is a water-based (acrylic-latex) formula, the sole drying mechanism is the evaporation of water. Dry time can be significantly impacted by cool or humid application conditions, moisture in the application surfaces or by thick (deep) applications of the patch. The most common cause for slow dry time/development of full hardness, results from application in excess of the recommended fill depth. As indicated on the product package label and supporting product literature: "One application is usually sufficient for small repairs. For repairs deeper than 1/8”, apply two or more layers allowing spackling to dry between applications. Full dry (full hardness) will occur once all of the water contained in the formula has evaporated. Because you did not provide any details regarding your experience, such as the application surface, width/depth of fill, temperature, humidly or application technique, it is difficult to provide you with a more detailed reply in this format. DAP offers several traditional spackling compounds that may be more in line with your needs/preferences. At your convenience, please contact DAP’s Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477 so that we suggest an alternate product that aligns with your preferences.

So not impressed .. I went to use it , took the foil seal of and squeezed and it all burst through the seam at the other end ! Had to scoop it off the carpet and use my fingers .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really loved using the DAP Fast and Final speckling. I had a few surfaces in my kitchen as well as my bathroom that needed to be sealed. I think this is a great product for small areas like around the sink and tub. It dries fast and is not chunky. Definitely something I will use often.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recieved this dap fast and final dry wall repair to rest out. Ket me just say it worked great. It was simple to apply it filled the hole perfectly with out having to sand. The best part i was painting my patch within a hour. My only small complaint is that it states the cap is also usable as a putty knife. But i didn't think it let a flat surface. I really recommended using this patch with any small dry wall repairs you may have.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried this product on a couple of small repairs to a bathroom wall, the built in putty knife wasn't the greatest but since the product is so smooth it made up for it. The light consistency of the spackle was a dream to use and dried super quick, I also like that after some practice i did not need to sand my repair another great feature. I was painting in less than 30 minutes which was awesome. On a side note after 15 days and bathroom humidity you can not notice the repaired areas I'm thrilled.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let's start with that fact that is convenient especially for small patches. The kids are always throwing a toy or accidently indenting the wall so this is the perfect product for us to have on hand. Yes I have some in a bigger container but it's heavy, has one of those hard to remove tops and can be a bit messy. So when I saw this with a built in knife and easy to close top, I was excited. I used it to patch a small indent and it came out easily, was easy to spread and the clean up was a breeze. The top that slides on to close this product is perfect so I can save it for another fix up. It says no sanding required but I'm not the best at making my work smooth so I'll have to anyway. The only con I have is maybe a bit of product waste since it's a tube and I can't put excess back in but at the same time it wasn't much waste. The product was easy to control how much I wanted out so that was helpful too. Overall the end result looks good and I'll definitely use it again.

Of course there are nail holes galore and a small dip in the ceiling where it looks like someone hit a broom handle into it. Thats what I used this stuff for. Its a great formula. It had to hang and dry without dripping and it did that! If filled and smoothed nail holes with ease. Not a single clog. This tube will last a long time, and I will be able to come back with a clean tip because of the cover.
