We're sorry you're disappointed with the updated scent of Dawn Original Liquid Dish Soap, TeacherMom. As well, we're sorry that both our Original and Free & Clear dish soap isn't cleaning your dishes as effectively as expected. A lot of thought and research goes into the product features we offer, and our products are made under stringent quality controls to ensure each meets our high standards, and is very safe when used as intended. Since you're sensitive to the updated Original fragrance, we recommend using a different Dawn version. It may be helpful to know that, hard water, which contains a lot of dissolved minerals, is the number one cause of reduced effectiveness. If you live in a hard-water area, you may need to use more dishwashing liquid. Another tip we recommend for the most effective cleaning is using our soap with water that is 105 to 115°F. If certain items always pick up a flavor, they're probably worn to the point of being porous and should be rinsed off immediately and not soaked.
