DeLonghi Eletta Explore Fully Automatic Espresso Machine with Cold Brew

I bought this machine back in December…it’s fantastic. My family loves coffee and are no strangers in making French presses and espressos “the long way”. The Eletta has spoiled us. Not only by saving us time but being able to dial into our personal preferences. The worst thing about making this purchase is having a great cup of coffee every morning, my personal fav Flat white, then going on vacation. Your standards will change making it hard to find a decent cup.

We bought the Eletta Explore Espresso Machine after doing a bit of internet research on machines that would provide different types of coffee drinks with a coffee grinder feature. The cold brew option was an added plus since that's my go-to drink during the spring/summer months. In general, this machine has a wide variety of hot and cold drink options - one for each household member and more. We've tried several drinks, but have narrowed down on a few just due to personal preference. I'm sure that as we enter the warmer months, we'll try even more drink options. For the avid coffee drinker or connoisseur, there are plenty of options and even more with the mobile app where you can try seasonal recipes. Aside from the drink variety, the machine's functionality is straightforward. You get a notification when a water tank refill is needed or for a coffee bean refill. You also get instructions on the level of milk that's required to make your drink and, even though the machine tells you to refill to a certain level, eventually you realize how much milk it actually uses so that you're not pouring/using more than the needed amount. You also get notifications when the coffee pod is full or when you need to clean your milk carafe. This machine would deserve a five star rating if I were not for the temperature of the drink once it is made. Oftentimes, the drink is warm to the lips although I (and my wife) like my drink a little warmer. It may be because the milk is cold when taken out of the fridge (the drink is a bit warmer when we open a new container and the milk is room temperature, but who has an open milk container laying around for several days). In any event, we've figured out that an additional 30 seconds in the microwave gets the drink to the sweet spot temperature-wise and we've grown accustomed to it. If I could give it 4.5 stars, I would. Hence, i'm deducting a full star just because of the temperature of the drink. Overall, you can't go wrong with the Eletta Explore and I'd recommend it anyday, anytime.

Have not even had this for 2 months and it’s already not working!!!! Do not buy this. So disappointed.

I got mine a few days ago. I love coffee. I had a brain injury in 03 and lost my smell. I enjoy bitter coffee the best. With this machine, I can test out a bunch of ways to make it. Different types and amounts. It's fantastic. I have like 8 bags of coffee sitting around. I will finally be able to go through them by putting beans in the machine. It is a cool thing. I love the screen. It is easy to see and use. Hitting the bus lets you costomize. The app is my favorite way. So easy. Just get your phone, go to the app, log in and go to work. It is like having a coffee house in a cool sauare box.

Very impressed with the design. Much better cappincino's than other automatic machines. This makes 5/5, easy to use, easy to clean.

Bought this as a gift at Christmas. It makes great coffee/cappucino/espresso etc. Truly a luxury to be able to do this at home. Pros: milk frothing (both hot/cold) are done in an independent carafe that plugs into the machine. The grinder has adjustable settings. Everything tastes good. Cons: The portions tend to be small. There's a lot of water usuage due to the frequency of cleaning cycles. For example, the machine cycles both when you turn it on and when it goes off. I try to catch it in a small glass so it doesnt flood the drip tray. But, Im pretty confident the machine is clean. Overall, we're really enjoying so far.

PROS: Ease of use. Love turning on machine from bed with app. Lots of variety of drinks. Easy to self clean milk container after each use. Quiet. Epresso SOUL really brings out true bean flavor. Love anility to make and use " to-go" mugs. CONS: Still does not heat milk hot enough! (Have to heat cup in microwave, make drink & heat 30 secs in microwave to enjoy sipping coffee for more then 10 mins.) Tray falls apart when taken out for emptying so hold on each side or dismantle first. Water container too small. Cup tray only warms when machine is on. No way either on machine or app to set machine to turn on in the morning.

The different coffee's come out great. But there is definitely learning curve to use the machine . Have only done hot so far

Great espresso milk drinks. Easy for me but if one of you are decaf and not a techie it can be difficult. Husband is used to a pot of decaf or K pods. Grab and go for him. He kept forgetting to put the rinse cup underneath…. Then, when to place the decaf ground beans in the chute. I’ll have to keep both on the counter. The explore is perfect for me though .

The machine is good makes yummy coffees. Can’t get it to connect to the app. I am tech savvy, and have tried and tried to no avail. There are several functions I can not access because of this.

We've had the Eletta Explore for a couple of months now and must say that it is everything as promised. My original intent was to purchase another manufacturer as well and compare models, then return the loser. However, after using the Eletta, I couldn't identify any major faults and was really enjoying using it, so it was the winner without trying the other. The good: The bean hopper is sealed with a gasket maintaining freshness. The assortment of drink types is appealing and the ease of making them is enjoyable as well. All super automatics are noisy, but the Eletta is average and not too loud (I do close the bedroom door while my wife is sleeping just in case). Cleaning is simple and I love the "to go" feature and mug. The dedicated "favorites" button is a nice touch along with the multiple user profiles. The multi milk product feature works very well. This machine makes great coffee! The bad: It's not a showstopper but, even though it's average size when compared to others, we'd prefer the water tank to be a little larger and the cup warmer to be active and not passive. Lastly, the "stop & extra" buttons on the touchscreen when making drinks could be larger for us early in the morning folks with fat fingers (easy fix). Lastly, water filters are a little on the expensive side when compared to some other manufacturers. Suggestions: Delonghi, provide a way for our external water filters (Berkey in our case) to connect directly to the machine.

Great machine. Easy setup and usage. No issues when using and makes great customizable drinks.

Replacing an older version Eletta and every aspect is better with the latest generation. Time will tell if this one lasts as long as the previous did (7 years).

I bought this after an extensive research and im so glad i chose this model. Little expensive side of what we wanted but its worth it. Love the ease of use and the quality if drink it provides. Best part not too many lose ends to make any kind of coffee. Cleaning is also a piece of cake. Love the fact that the frother does the need washing after every use just nozzle cleaning needed after every use but that too is automatic. Best part of the day to make coffee from it and enjoy every sip of it.
