Q: Can this unit be used as the sound output of a smart TV? I see there is no HDMI.

A: Hello, the Denon PMA-900HNE is equipped with an Optical input. Check to make sure your TV's digital audio output is set to PCM, then connect the TV's optical audio output to the PMA-900HNE's optical input. Optical 1 is labeled 'TV' on the rear panel of the PMA-900HNE.
