We understand that this isn't the case here, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Any fabric softener can cause a greasy spot if it comes in direct contact with the fabric. The good news is that if the staining is from the dryer sheets, it should be removable by the following steps: - For small spots: dampen spots with warm to hot water and rub with bar soap. Rinse, repeat, machine launder. - For large spots: rewash items using a double dose of laundry detergent and the hottest water safe for the fabric. Sometimes it's necessary to repeat the treatment in order to remove all of the staining. For best results when using Downy Dryer Sheets, be sure to use the correct dryer heat setting according to the care tag and try not to dry the load longer than necessary. I used these for years and they always smelled so great. They changed them over to mega sheets and they smell like mildew. Will be throwing these out and finding a different smell and brand. called number on box to complain and they sent me a refund.

I don’t know what they changed but these larger 3x ones feel sticky and leave a terrible residue on the lint trap, so much so that I have to fight to unstick the lint from the mesh. Also I used to be able to use a sheet for 2-3 loads of laundry, now after 1 they become unusable. Will be looking for a different brand of dryer sheets from now on.

I've been buying these for years with no problems. The smell was always amazing. I just used a new pack ordered January of this year & they are terrible! I pulled the blanket out of the dryer & immediately smelled acetone! Like hardcore acetone like in a nail salon. I just did another load & now my brand new Lululemon hoodie smells like acetone! I compared the dryer sheets to an old package I found in the garage & sure enough the acetone smell is coming directly from these dryer sheets! This is getting exhausting trying to keep my family safe from all these toxic chemicals manufacturers keep adding & switching up behind our backs! Hopefully this was just a fluke & the old scent will be restored sans acetone smell! Buyer beware!

When I bought these I didn’t realize the sheets came super sized. I thought the box just meant there were more sheets. These cut in half are regular sheet size. They’re great for big dryer loads. They smell great.

I am very unhappy with this new product. The smell is off, almost sour or rotten smelling. My biggest concern though was after using them one time my dryer screen became very sticky. I was worried this might damange my dryer so I stopped using them.

It’s possible this box may have been stored in a less-than-ideal space, which led to this scent change. Regarding residue, your Dryer Sheets shouldn’t lead to this, however, dryer manufacturers and we know that residue can happen periodically through general use. It is a good idea to regularly have your dryer vents cleaned. We suggest using Dawn, hot water and a gentle scrub brush to clean your lint filter.
